Sharkey at his best was second only to Tunney as a technician. Although not a devastating puncher he had some clout. His chin was sturdy although he was KOd 4 times in his Carrer. His drawback seemed to be his temperament becoming overly emotional and at times to the point of crying in the ring. All in all a very good Heavy definitely top 25.
Heres the photo: http://pro.corbis.com/popup/Enlargement.aspx?mediauids={cad1d33e-8741-4d32-bd02-00439770b452}|{ffffffff-ffff-ffff-ffff-ffffffffffff}&qsPageNo=1&fdid=&Area=Search&TotalCount=4&CurrentPos=1&WinID={cad1d33e-8741-4d32-bd02-00439770b452} I have always been fascinated by Sharkey. He was highly inconsistant. He was very talented. He was highly flawed. He was very interesting . Have to give him credit for not drawing the color line fighting both Wills and Godfrey.
