It was an awesome display of technical ability and skill. Saying that martinez wasnt a threat and loma new that hence the agressive start which is unlike loma. Re salido fight i agreee with most of what davidee states however i wouldnt call it a robbery. He made a mistake by getting in the 1st place with a guy who had no intention making weight and from the off was intent on only fighting loma with a stone advantage. There was a lot of low blows but salidios tactics all night was going to the body. If there landed some low blows and your opp aint respecting the rules loma and his team should of actively protested the ref end of each rd. Without a doubt on a lvl field loma would of beat salido that night but as someone said, "welcome to the pros"
:roflatschsmoke lol he's had 7 fights and one 2 titles, he's willing to fight anyone. Did you even watch the Salido fight? I doubt it because you wouldn't have made that ludicrous statement otherwise.
The man is awesome, and the only reason he's not rated in at worst the top 3 pound for pound is that boxing hipsters don't want to put a guy with a 6-1 record at that level. Martinez is an experienced world class fighter, and the look on his face from the opening bell said 'WTF am I up against here?' The speed of foot is so rapid it must be like fighting two people. Just a sublime talent.
That statement was rather silly, to be fair. Lomachenko was the one coming on strong in the later rounds of the Salido fight, and backed up and hurt Salido several times. The fact the could have walked away from that fight after Salido failed to make weight, but went ahead with the fight, shows that Lomachenko won't duck anyone.
I think Lomachenko had hand injuries earlier in his pro career, which accounts for some of his inactivity. But I agree; he needs to be in the ring four plus times a year -- three, absolute minimum. :good It's pretty much the same story with Lomachenko's best friend, Oleksandr Usyk: nowhere near as active as he should be.
Certainly wonr duck. He was vocal about making the rigo fight and it was walters who ducked loma in the end. Only guy i reckon could beat him is rido (in theory)simply because theyre both spaws so the experience advantage goes to em both. Rigos got quicker reflexes. Lomas has broader movement. Theres quite a few top skill areas you could give to em both. Id love this fight but now lomas sfw its less likely.
I think he has the ability to be an all time great, the guy is phenomenal, like watching perfection in motion at times lol.
Lomachenko fought like a a skilled amateur against Salido. Salido gave him a lesson in pro boxing. What was Salido supposed to do, stand in front trying to outbox Loma ?
He was not used to salidos rough house tactics as a green pro he will have learned from that and put a clinic on him next time round
