We know he has power, but let's talk about his skills. I think because he has so much power, his boxing skills are kinda dismissed and he's looked at as some crude brawler which is not the case. I gotta watch the Judah fight again, but I just remember him really outboxing him in a close fight.

Yeah, his power stand out that his skills were not at visible to the viewers. It's underrated to the point that some people actually think of him a banger only.

I wouldn't call him a skillful boxer. He's wily enough to set up his power shots and knows when to throw them, though.

So far, that's all he's needed.

    -He throws mostly straight punches.
    -He works the body well.
-He always keeps whatever hand up that he is not throwing.
    -He uses good head movement.
-Keeps his chin tucked at all times.
-Always has great balance with his legs and poised to throw with power ala Golovkin.

The guy is a ****ing machine. Systematically breaking you down.

Oh yea did I mention he might be p4p the hardest puncher.

If he possessed great skill, he would be far and away the best fighter in boxing.

He is not, because he does not.

He's definitely an elite fighter, though.

He feints well, he sets up offense with decoy/diversionary type tactics. Jab to the body to set up the hook. Places his punches well, and is capable of throwing more than one punch at a time.

Tbh today he didn't look as sharp as normal, don't know if it was the flight 2 days ago or nerves but he was rushing a lot and missing but then got into his rhythm
For example the left hook he missed and fell to the floor, think it was just nerves at first

Let's be honest, a lot of people wrongfully write-off or oversimplify aggressive fighting as limited skilled brawling. Just because you're not shoulder-rolling doesn't mean there's not a lot of nuance and skill involved with what you're doing. I'll say it again, Lucas reminds me a bit of Marciano in this regards (More that meets the eye in terms of their skillfulness).

This is a good one. Great timing.

He's a fighter. He's not a boxer in the traditional sense, but he's not a one-dimensional fighter like Margarito or Rios.

He knows how to get inside without getting hit too much. He's skilled offensive fighter. Defensively, he's good enough bob his way in and deliver his bombs. Kinda like Tyson.

    I'm okay with that.

Do you consider him more skilled than Danny Garcia?

All Matthysse fanboys need to watch his earlier fights. The ones pre-Judah and Alexander.

Shoulder roll looks nice and all until you get punched with power to the noggin
