I was looking at the board and someone questioned Sugar Shanes resume after De La Hoya...Shane's a fighter, but damn...it isn't really that impressive...at least not to me. Not to take away from his talent at all...IMO he's an ATG...with that said, in your opinions, who has the better resume...He, or Money May?
It really isnt that impressive ? Ok lets compare. Lets say Shane fought PBF's resume, and PBF fought Shane's resume taking into account the best fights. SHANE MOSLEY vs Castillo = KO win vs Corrales = KO win vs Judah = KO win vs Gatti = KO win vs Baldomir = Wide UD Win vs Old DLH = Already beat a Prime Oscar, but yeah a win vs Hatton = KO win I fully believe if Mosley had fought PBF's resume he'd also be undefeated. This is where it gets interesting. FLOYD MAYWEATHER vs PRIME Oscar = ? vs PRIME Oscar = ? vs Vernon Forrest = ? vs Vernon Forrest = ? vs Winky Wright = ? vs Winky Wright = ? vs Fernando Vargas = ? vs Fernando Vargas = ? vs Miguel Cotto = ? Also, who would win between PBF and SHANE PRIME FOR PRIME ? Watch Oscar vs Shane 1, and tell me Floyd could have handled himself with them 2. I think not.
I'm not saying in who he fought...he fought a lot of good fighters, but he got beat by them too. And you damn near can take Vargas off...he's been a shot fighter.
I have a lot more respect for Shane and his Career than mayweather. Shane beat a prime Oscar and had the balls to fight Cotto at 36 years of age. Floyd ran into retirement instead of facing any of the top guys at 147. Mosely = True Champion.Warrior Mayweather = *****/Fraud
It amazes me how one man can envoke so much emotion out of total strangers...hahahah. Put your personal feelings aside, please.
Shane took on pretty much all Comers. While Mayweather started being Selective. So, I would have to go with Shane.
This is a shocking post. Truly insane. Mosley lost FIVE of the nine fights you mention (SIX if you include DLH II, which he lost clearly as well). All you have proven is that Mosley lost most of his big fights, whereas Mayweather did not. Would Mosley have won all of PBF's fights? Maybe. Would Mayweather have lost to Forrest or Cotto? No. And even then, Mayweather was a naturally smaller man than Mosley, he wouldn't have been fighting guys like Forrest and Wright anyway. And I'd back peak Castillo to take Mosley to points.
great post zavy. floyd's a very good fighter, but i always thought he's alittle too overrated. like dlh, his fights are very carefully chosen, fighting very close battles with 1 or 2 very good fighters in their prime and the rest were too old or past it already. no way floyd would beat a prime forrest or winky
I don't care if Mayweather was selective or not his resume is clearly better.Ring Magazine recognizes this. They put Mayweather in the top seven fighters of the last twenty years along with Whitaker,Chavez,Jones,Hopkins,Holyfield and Lopez.Mosley would not make the top twelve.
Nah. Castlillo might give Mosley a run for his money though, but Mosley would definately beat him. also, even if you lose performing amazingly in great challenges is better than winning decent ones. W, L those are for boxrec. How you win and how you lose is also important.
