Jay-Z has been trying for years to get into the boxing game. Roc Nation won the purse bit for Korobov/Quillin, forcing Haymon to pull the plug. They tried to get in on Wilder/Stiverne, but Haymon probably pull some strings to prevent Roc Nation from getting involved.

Now they've signed Ward and has been signing a slew of other fighters. They're going to start competing for time slots on Showtime, HBO and NBC. Jay-Z has a huge battle chest and this is a guy who understand the business side of things, in additional to some HUGE marketing power. He partially owns the NETS, so he's got the Barclays Center to host his cards.

Jay-Z is a true businessman who will sign anyone who has talent, unlike Mayweather who only sign certain type of fighters. He a lot of business and personal connections. He has a deep connection with urbanites and the musicians...people actually respect him.

So what's going to happen? I see Roc Nation displacing Mayweather promotions and start eating into Haymon's pie in the future. It'll take a few years, but with Jay-Z's influence in the hip hop community and his resources, he could become one of the big players in the game next to Golden Boy and Top Rank.

Everyone in Haymon ' s stable will jump over to Roc Nation once Jay-Z guarantees them a record deal.

One of the main reasons behind Roc Nation purchasing Gary Shaw's company (GSP - Gary Shaw Productions) and them roping him on board to work for them is that Jay-Z has been desperately trying for years to get Shaw's son, the immensely talented and ruggedly handsome Jared Shaw to sign to his record label.

There are more strings to Jared's bow than his musical talent too. Like pops he's also involved in the fight game.

    Displacing Mayweather promotions??

Mayweather promotions has never been more than a little promotional company, that had one big fighter.

I would say Roc nation is already ahead of Mayweather Promotio9ns simply by buying out Gary Shaw!

How much did they buy out Shaw for?

Signing Ward is a phenomenal coupe. All they need now is 2-3 more big names and to co-work with TR & GBP and the sky is the limit!

Apparently Jay Z and Al Haymon were rivals in the music business. I personally hope Jay Z ****s off out of boxing as he will probably be as bad or worse for the game than that piece of **** Al Haymon.

Jay Z no longer is an owner for the nets. His company manages athletes. Made it against the law to also be an owner.

    Yeah right.

    Taylor vs Mora?

Told Quillin to vacate instead of beat Kobrov and earn huge money doing so?

    Whatever you say...
