Yes, Mark, I'm talking about how they were in 1990. If Tyson had to pull out and someone else in the heavyweight division had to step up in 1990.

Holmes (back to back losses, old, and inactive) and especially Cooney (coming off 2 brutal KO losses and was an alcoholic) definitely aren't doing better than Tyson.

Many of the rest of the fighters on your list are iffy picks as well.

Tyson definitely wasnt outside the top 10 h2h in 1990. To suggest otherwise is comedy.

When it comes to the Douglas fight, people often take one of two extremes: either claiming Douglas was some amazing h2h godly boxer for just 1 night, or pretending like Tyson fell off a cliff and was 100x worse than he was before at 23.

We don’t know how hard he had to work to get that knockout....if you asked Ike Ibeabuchi who had the best defense of all the guys he fought ...I’m sure he would say Chris Byrd

Who says you "can't" KO someone and claim them as the smartest? Not sure why that bothers you so much!

Who would you give the honor of being the smartest opponent Tyson faced?

Holyfield had an air tight game plan and tremendous sparring sessions with David Tua and Gary Bell. They prepared him very well. Holyfield should count his lucky stars for Tommy Brooks. That's the guy who deserves credit, not Don Turner.

Holyfield looked bullet proof in both bouts with Iron Mike.

What does Jerry Tarkanian have to do with this?

Although his 1990 national championship team was an all-timer, I’ll admit.

No, the real actual shark that he fought, that was televised recently, not Jerry Tarkanian.
