    Just anything about him really. Strengths, weaknesses, ranking, best perfomances, most memorable fights - what have you.

    Personally, he's one of my absolute favourite fighters. The kind all beginners in boxing (well, everyone who boxes really) should watch. Just so complete. The only thing he really lacked was the reflexes,peripheral vision and anticipation of defensive stylists such as Loche, Benitez and Toney. He was quite alright in this area, mind you, just not elite.

    Buthis combination of skill, punching mechanics, timing, accuracy, ring generalship, toughness and competitiveness just makes into such a special fighter. Can't really get enough of him.

    Just finished his biography a couple weeks back, it was quite good. A few factual typos/errors in there that I blame on a lazy/ignorant editor, however.

    Arguello was the type of fighter that could get you out of there with one shot from either hand, but never turned into a Julian Jackson type, who fell in love with his power so much that he neglected combinations. To the very end he threw beautiful combinations. If one hard shot was good, two or three were better. Just so well-schooled and always conditioned himself to be able to deliver those textbook, precise combinations as sharply and as well in the fifteenth round as he had in the first. His technique never fell off in the late rounds.

    His biography said that Arguello himself considered 135 to be his best weight, but I know what I see, and I think he's wrong. He might have felt physically better there, not having to kill himself to make 126 or 130 any more, but by the time he went up to lightweight his movements were just a bit more wooden, everything by then came with just a little more pause before action. He was much smoother when he was younger, as is true of everyone.

    I agree with both points. I have Arguello as no.2 puncher on film behind Joe Louis.

    Yeah, I think I'd reserve the nr. 1 position to Robinson, personally. And I'd have Louis behind Arguello, and probably a couple of other fighters.

    Didn't think anybody else held the same type of esteem I did for Robinson as a puncher. Obviously, he finds his way to a good share of top 10-15 lists, but I haven't often seen anyone put him that high. Amongst the 'on film' guys for me anyway, because Fitz and Langford stand pretty mighty.

    I'd like to have more prime film of Robinson, but just from what I've seen his punching is absolutely sensational. Almost, but not quite, as good mechanics as Louis and Arguello, combined with terrific fluidity, accuracy speed and power. And almost as good one punch KO artist as putting together combinations.

    Lopez and Arguello were also absolutely sensational, though, as was Hearns. And I'd have guys like Leonard and Duran just a notch below, I think.

    For me, fantastic as Louis' punching was, it was a just a bit below these guys. In terms of mechanics, accuracy and putting punches together he was as good, and perhaps better, than anyone. But his one big flaw (and it's actually quite a big one) was that he needed to plant his feet and get set in a way that meant he could be off-set by movement to a higher degree than the others I've mentioned.

    Ray is in my top five for sure. Certainly quicker of hand and foot compared to my no.1 and 2.
