Well it's a great fight if it gets made....from all reports Guzman looked bad in his last fight.

One would think Guzmans speed would be the difference however Katsidis will drag him into a brawl so best of luck to Mick :good

So with Gurerro out we have the following names on the table

Diaz
JMM
Guzman

I think Diaz may have signed already to another fight

This is it for Mick...if he can win one of these two fights he hits the big time :deal

I hope he can do it....if he gets beat it wont end him.

i had tickets to that fight because i was living in LA at the time briefly doing a course at UCLA... the old man was going to come over from Sydney to see it (our family is from Toowoomba originally). ****ing gutted when it fell through... we had ringside seats

:patsch

Lets hope for Micks sake he lands one of these big fights and goes well....oh and the fans are going to love it as well.

Katsidis has quite a few fans on the general and Brit forum and its easy to see why.

Like most Aussies would like to see Kats get a crack at one of these guys - always great to watch win, lose or draw!

I couldn't see Guzman being able to handle kats pressure. Guzman hasn't carried his power up in weight so would struggle to hold kats off for 12 rounds. Katsidis be stoppage 8-10 rounds.

Guzman is a very talented defensive fighter and when he wants to can throw alot of accurate punches... i got him winning a UD after pot shotting and running all night... Katsidis has none of the advantages Funeka had, i just cant see him winning. If Guzman comes in weight drained or he has grown old overnight then Kats might have a chance to wear him down but i wouldnt like to count on it

I tend to agree. I'm starting to sound like a Katsidis hater with all the potential matchups involving him lately. Guzmans speed will be the difference I dare say. I hope I'm wrong.

im a huge fan of his, and im chuffed he is taking the big fights but he just isnt on the level of guys like Guzman, Funeka and JMM. He does alot of things well but nothing great, which is why he will struggle against guys with all the advantages against him. JMM has the speed and counteringg, Funeka has the huge height and reach advantage and Diaz throws insane amounts of punches in solid combos

I hope your wrong as well mate but you ain't going to be, sadly Guzman late stoppage or UD imo .gotta love one of Australia's Premier fighters guts Kats and Vic are really what Aussie boxing is all about these days . unless you visit the Aussie section of ESB no one really gets a mention outside these two on the world stage anymore .

this is a horrible fight for Kat.
Guzman will really make katsidis look really really bad.
They are not even on the same skill level.
This will be a mismatch. Katsidis will be outboxed all night. He should try somebody else.
Guzman is way too quick, throws good combos and his defence is excellent. Guzman will see Katsidis' punches coming all night.

Guzman late stoppage? Have you seen any of his fights in the last few years? He hasn't carried his power up in weight at all and would be no chance of winning early.

Guzman is a great fighter but OVER hyped He can get hit and when Kat lands he will know then and only then Guzman will understand why he ducked katsidis all those years ago....Yes I said DUCKED because he did.

Soto-Diaz added in Dallas

WBC super featherweight champion Humberto “Zorrita” Soto and former WBC lightweight champion David Diaz will meet for the vacant WBC lightweight title, headlining the pay-per-view undercard of the March 13 Pacquiao vs. Clottey pay-per-view telecast. The card will also feature 10-round rumbles between two-time world champion Jose Luis “El Terrible” Castillo in a welterweight battle against top-10 contender Alfonso Gomez and “Ireland’s” John Duddy in a middleweight duel with Michael “Myckol” Medina.

Wow what a great card

Now Diaz is out it may just be Guzman
