Lets try to understand Cotto's point of view for a second.

    145lbs is Cotto's terms not Pacman's.

If Cotto doesnt want to stake the title, then he brings nothing to the table and Pacman should look elsewhere.

Do you watch boxing? Cotto said: "I would like to fight the winner of Hatton/Pacquiao". Guess who won buddy.

Maybe we should ask Cotto to apologize for being the naturally bigger man then.

It's Pacquiao that wants to fight welterweights, so obviously the weight factor won't be in his favour.

Because team Pac didn't mention the title until after the negotiations were finished.

    :deal

No, it would be Cotto's terms if the fight was at 147. And it would be Pac's terms if the fight was at 143 or below.

Cotto doesn't bring anything to the table? He's a very good and dangerous fighter, pretty marketable, has a huge fanbase and holds a welterweight title. Don't be fooled, Pac doesn't have that many other options besides Cotto.

The Cotto fight is more winnable for Pac than a Mosley fight. For me, the only option that's better for Pac than Cotto is fighting Mayweather, but that fight is also more difficult to win.

no, cotto should apologize for being a middleweight fighting in the welterweight division. try fighting people one division higher than yours. attempt to be greater than what you are, cotto. challenge yourself. or is pacquiao the only one who has the guts to move up in weight?

cotto's just like a 3rd grader staying in pre-school so he can beat everyone at spelling.

Pac Said he wanted to fight Cotto @143lbs Cotto said: " I will fight, but nowhere under 145lbs". Manny didn't mention the title back then. This is very simple. Cotto doesn't have the 145 or the 143lbs titles. HE DOESN'T ****ING HAVE IT!!!

    Cotto has made enough concessions.

I've never been a Cotto fan, but he's done enough to make the fight happen. The story of the entire promotion has been Cotto giving an inch and Pacquiao/Roach taking a mile.

Basically if Manny wants to be respected for beating a legitimate welterweight, the fight sould be done at welterweight.

    This.

If Cotto is defending his Welterweight belt, he has the right to come in at the Welterweight limit.

I'm really sick of all this catchweight bull****.

i feel cotto doesn't have full confidence in himself anymore. he's struggled in his highest profile fights, some he barely won, and even got stopped by slow-assed margarito. yes margo was probably cheating but nevertheless he was still caught by the dude.

now in some of cotto's latest fights he's come in at 146. so basically he's gonna skip his biggest payday ever, and the prestige of having the chance to beat the P4P1 fighter in the world over 1 lousy pound? sure it's technically 2 pounds, but he can EASILY make 145 pounds. why? well it wasn't too long ago that he fought at 138 pounds against malignaggi, AND the majority of his welterweight fights have been at 146 or 146.5!!!

i'm really disappointed in him. he holds the natural size advantage and also the experience advantage of fighting quality welterweights. and yet he refuses to drop 1 more pound after offering that weight to pacman.

all this says to me is he has self doubt. he thinks there is a chance pacman might beat me, therefore i better get rid of my belt for now, then if i lose i can simply fight a Jennings type fighter to regain the vacant belt.

by thinking like that he is already defeated mentally. sure i can't read his mind but it seems quite likely especailly after losing in such a devastating fashion by quitting after a beating.

Very simple just let Cotto keep his belt and let him defend it against his mandatories or get a unification fight against Molsey or Berto.

On this he can get 50/50 purse and no catchweight. :D

Question is how much is that 50%?

They don't have to fight really. :yep
