One of the top two 140 pounders in boxing??? Yes Beast with power & exciting??? Yes Good boxing skills & a THINKER in the ring??? **** no, he's still rather crude, & slow. He's as od as Floyd, JMM & Pac??? **** no, theres levels to this **** they all beat him. Unbeatable beast??? **** no, I had zab winning there fight, still ALOT of guys that beat him Lucas fans, calm down a little. Garcia might end the hype, 50/50 fight
Matthyse Powers through Garcia and KO's him in the mid round IMO. I think he wil have learned from the Judah fight. There's no question who'd habe won the judah and alexander fights if they both had a couple more rounds. I think he'll press the action earlier now.
Mid round KO for Lucas against Garcia, both average boxers, only difference is Lucas has more power in both hands than Garcia does in his left hook IMO.
García is gonna be decapitated, but if Matthysse fights Pacquiao, Márquez or Mayweather he will lose badly. With Bradley he can win but the american would be the favorite.
1. IF he lost the Judah fight it wasn't due to Zab, it was because Matthyse chose to start slow and settle in. A bad choice, yet he still owns Zab in a rematch. 2. No one is saying he has A -level boxing skills. But he boxes better than your typical beast with power i.e Rios, Maidana, Josesito Lopez. I agree with the rest of your post mostly, I also have him beating Garcia though. I'm a Garcia fan, but he'll have to improve his stamina if they're going to fight. Matthyse fights all 12.
I think Matthysse is very skilled and his boxing style is deceiving. Let's get real here, boxing is by definition a martial art. It is a unique style just as any other form of martial art, but there are also styles within that discipline that are unique on their own. Matthysse's style is subtle. It looks wild, but there is control in his chaos. He slips and rolls punches, he sets up shots intelligently, he has quick feet and under rated footwork (don't let the slip fool you), he keeps a hand on his chin while throwing, he has great stamina, great timing, great accuracy, and most of all crippling power. He is excellent with this style and no one has been able to actually beat him with it. The fights he lost were due to his slow start, so it could be said that he beat himself in those fights with Judah and Alexander. There is no doubt that he learned from those two losses, and brought his game to a whole new level. The losses were the best things that could have happened to Matthysse. It transformed him into this wrecking machine we are now able to witness a few times throughout the year.
Disagree with you right there, the man set up that knock out he set up the knock out over Mike Dallas as well. That is a thinking man what you saw is pure skills the man takes the time to see what his opponent is bringing and makes adjustments to get the job done he is still improving each time out. Speed isnt everything either not when you have timing like that.... Lucas is as legit as it will ever get.
atsch And just what the hell are you basing this on? He's ko'd just about everyone he's fought and his own stamina has never truly been tested. This is borderline ridiculous now...
You didn't see how easily he hit Peterson with his ''slow'' hands? He has a great ability to find those holes to get trough the guard time after time. I would call it....... Skills It's not like Matthysse being just a crazy brawler who overcomes his fights with monsterous power..
