    Currently Calzaghe beats Hopkins (why? because whether we like it or not that is what happened).

    So;

    Calzaghe > Hopkins

    Where does Pavlik fit in?

    Scenario A:
    Pavlik beats Hopkins very very clearly.

    Pavlik > Calzaghe > Hopkins

    could be argued and in that case Calzaghe will try to get Pavlik to make the fight in order for Joe to slide past Kelly again by beating him. Kelly may not need Joe.

    Scenario B:
    Hopkins clearly beats Kelly.

    Calzaghe > Hopkins > Pavlik

    could be argued and in this case Calzaghe will not need Pavlik and the fight will probably not happen. Kelly would like to fight Calzaghe, but with a loss to Hopkins it is not really realistic.

    What can we conclude from this?

    If we want to see Calzaghe - Pavlik then Pavlik better win. Otherwise Joe's best bet may be Dawson to give him real legacy at LHW. So far he hasn't spent enough time nor met anough LHWs to really be ranked there. Sure he won a title, but it was from a MW and history will downgrade that. If he beats Dawson, he will suddenly be a real two-division champ.

    So - what do you hope happens?

    He will. Who else should Joe fight? Sine breaking away from Warren, Joe is only interested in who gives the best legacy points and the most dollars.

    IF Pavlik beats Hopkins convincingly that would be Pavlik. If Pavlik loses to Hopkins or wins a close close fight, that will most likely not be Pavlik as Kelly would be risky with less reward for Joe.
