I always seem to have Larry in my top 5, and Lennox just outside of it....but am trying to re-evaluate my placements and the reasoning behind them. Who do you rank higher, and what do you base that upon? And how would you envision a prime match-up between these 2 playing out?

Sorry I assumed you had a reason that was based upon your thoughts and insights of the 2 men.

Lewis was a good fighter, no doubt, but I can't for the life of me understand why so many people rank him so high when his best wins came over a shot Holyfield & a comotose Tyson.

Yes, I know he beat a lot of good fighters besides, but let's get serious.

In seriousness I don't disagree with Holmes above Lewis as I said in the OP....but I was curious as to why? You can certainly poke those same holes into Holmes resume (and many other greats as well)...I was more curious as to whether is was percieved ability, a clear longevity of excellance issue, better top notch talent...i don't believe they are far apart either way.

Two things immediately come to mind, level of opposition, & Larry beating Mercer & taking Holyfield the distance when he was way past it.

I am usually labled a Lennox detractor, and it seems to be me that he is being sold well short and not given his due thus far!
