Nope, I'm not altogether saying his chin was weak or would fail him, but Tyson would be giving him something to think about throughout the fight. That said, Lennox was knocked out by two much lesser fighters, so it isn't out of the realm of possibility.
Frazier beat Ali and Ali was able to knock George Foreman out. Frazier should have an easy time with Foreman.... Styles make fights, and then you could also argue that Ruddock had a lot taken out of him after fighting Tyson. I don't care to argue that point, but it's there if you want to start making these comparisons.
Again, two fighters he overlooked, did not respect as he should have, and got sloppy against. Also, was Lennox in his prime against McCall in your opinion? Do you seriously believe there is any chance a prime Lennox would get lazy, drop his hands & smile against prime Tyson the way he did against Rahman???
Holy ****ing ****, if Lewis was an African-American, from Maryland,Kentucky, Florida,Pennsylvania or wherever the ****.......he would have his nuts hugged so tightly by all the yanks on every boxing website evrywhere it would be unreal But for some reason alot of them hate him :rofl The fact that a black non-American British person became the HW champ seems to infuriate soo many of them, its really quite amusing.
He wouldn't need to drop his hands. There is a video like nine minutes long of Lennox getting his cleanly. He did not have a rock solid defense.
Lennox had a **** load of fights. Everyone gets hit flush a lot throughout their career, whether they are Pernell Whitaker, Willie Pep, or Arturo Gatti. It does not mean ''their chins were there to be hit'' (except of course in Gatti's case)
I have Lewis in my top 10 ATG list, though I cant rank him top 5, while he has beat enough good or great oppenents to put him there, most if not all were out of there prime by the time he fought them. The Holyfield he fought in 99, was about 7 years out of his prime, Tyson was about 12 years out of his prime, Ruddick was Tysons left overs at that point, Morrison was not that good by 95 when Lewis fought him. I do however give him alot of credit for beating a prime Tua, Briggs, and even Mercer which I fought should of been a draw or a Mercer victory.
I can't see Lewis beyond 10-12 since he was flattened twice by C class fighters. Also out of Lewis total opposition, he fought and beat very few fighters (no ATG's)in their prime.
AGAIN, that video is full of Lennox taking shots from fighters he did not respect because he was often lazy against fighters he didn't feel were a threat. He was capable of being 100% focused when necessary against fighters he considered dangerous. Tyson fits into that category. Even so... 9 minutes? If there was extensive fight coverage back in the day, I could find 9 minutes of footage of Willie Pep getting hit if I were to look through his entire career.
