I've rewatched it so many times that I only remember Lewis who started laughing before he went down and Rahman's right hand that dropped Lewis. What is there to remember about a match without any major blows up to the KO?

Lewis didn't get seriously that fight and he deserved to lose It. Thats all.

Was Mercer a big puncher ? (Serious question, not trying to say Ray was a Jimmy young kind of puncher).

I think so. Otherwise they would not have called it Merciless. (36 wins whose 26 by KO: do they seem few to you?).

After watching Mercer/Lewis i came away believing Ray Mercer had an alltime great chin. Lewis took some good shots as well. Not as many Square the way Ray took them.

Exactly that there weren’t major blows up to the knock out. That Lewis chin was done after a single punch. That Lewis, while possessing a good chin did not have the great one you seem to believe he did.

I'm not mocking him or anything. I asked this question because i seriously have no real idea about it.
In general, the number of KO's are not always real statistic in determining power. You also have to factor in who the fighter fought and knocked out.
I'm not sure if the fighters he has been in the ring with ever talked about Mercer's power the way fighters talked about the truly great KO Kings like Liston, Foreman, Tyson or Shavers.
But i certainly know that those 26 KO's were against not so relevant fighter, with exception of Morrison and maybe diamenie. And the Duke himself was not an Iron chinned fighter.

You are off the rails. Lewis chin has nothing to do in that fight.

The fight with Rahman was scheduled for April 22, 2001 but Lennox Lewis arrived in South Africa only on April 10, 2001 from Las Vegas, where he had carried out his training, alternating training with the filming of the film "Ocean's Eleven" in which he took part for a cameo. . Not exactly the attitude of a boxer worried about the pitfalls of the oncoming defense, an impression also confirmed by the scales, given that the British athlete recorded the highest weight ever exhibited in his career up to that moment, exceeding 254 pounds. Given a 20-to-one favorite by bookmakers and close to a multi-million dollar deal with Mike Tyson, Lennox was likely persuaded he already had the win in his pocket...but he was wrong.

Mercer's power was not at the level of Foreman, Liston, Shavers, Tyson or Klitschko imo. Though no doubts on the fact he had heavy hands.

Despite all that if he had an iron chin he could have taken that one punch without going to the canvas. You are a fan of Lennox, great, but no amount of word play changes the fact he was knocked out cold by a single punch and that does not happen to Cast Iron Chinned boxers by definition.

Most people seem to agree since they have him with a “B” or “C” level chin according to your poll.

You seem to want your point validated instead of discussed so I’ll leave it at that.

Many rate Foreman's chin as an A level, but he was dropped by Ali, Lyle and Young. Lewis was only dropped by McCall and Rahman.

Hassim Rahman and Oliver McCall know about Lennox Lewis's Iron Chin.
