It's a fight I'm strangely interested in. Not to the extent where I'm rushing to sign up to Fite TV, but it's interesting to see where Ritson goes. He was heavily hyped by Matchroom a few years ago as they sought to build a regular Newcastle card, looked good clearing out the also rans but when he moved up to European level he was thoroughly outclassed by Patera. Since then he's looked vulnerable, maybe related to the weight he's boxing at? I think Davies is also interesting and although he lacks backing he's a good choice for an opponent if Ritson wants to try and re-establish himself. Not a choice without risk though.

 

£14.49 PPV in the UK. I like Fite.tv usually, but that's embarrassing.

Kholmatov puts Ward down with three left hands with 30 seconds left in the round.

Kholmatov - 20-17

Although Ward had his moments he is struggling to evade the Uzbek southpaw's left hand.

Kholmatov - 30-26

Kholmatov's power is the difference. His punches noticeably affect Ward while the same is not true for Ward's punches.

Kholmatov - 40-34

Ward down with 40 seconds left in the round. He fought back well when he rose but he would have been better served holding on.

 

Kholmatov looked like a hell of a prospect in the Grigorian fight. Well, he confirms it tonight. Very strong performance. Ward was always a bit chinny but even with a better chin he'd lose every round to this beast.

Round 5 - Ward down in round 5 and his corner throws in the towel. In this case it was a good move by the corner.

 

Kholmatov looked fantastic tonight. That being said. Ward hit him solidly on the chin quite often. While it had no effect on Kholmatov, punches from a stronger punches certainly could.

 

Looks like an absolute beast to me...

 

He's mandatory to Lara as well. I see him stopping the Mexican one trick phony.
