Lewis UD. Well rounded athletic boxer with good power and fundamentals vs aging outside fighter who overly relied on cageyness and flurries to steal rounds.

I just can't pick Mercer over any serviceable version of Muhammad Ali. I think Ali decisions Mercer but it'll be a long night for Ali. He won't be going home early.

I misread the question. Lewis wins a decision.

Lewis clearly beat top quality fighters. You do realize we can analyze and criticize any fighters resume no matter how good it is. We can even dissect Ali’s but it would be ridiculous to do since he has a great resume, same with Lewis

This is about Lewis vs ali, not Mercer vs Ali. And even Mercer beats the version of Ali we are talking about.

The quality of Ali`s opposition was far better than Lewis`s, he fought in a crappy era.

Ali probably has the better resume, but the 90s was the best HW era

Ali's resume was at least twice as good as Lewis

However, with that being said, the post Foreman Ali is the only Ali Lewis could ever beat.

I didn`t rate 90`s heavies at all, Lewis was the best of them, the rest had pros and cons to their games and were highly flawed.
