The fights right on this thread, and all four judges if you include Lederman scored the first round for Lewis and no, Holyfield did not throw more punches. Try watching it and then decide who won the first round.

Those are just jabs, not punches. If you want to just use the punch stats than great. Lewis outlanded Holyfield by over 50 punches in that fight.

I'm talking about first round now, Holy not jabbed he thrown a lot of body punches and landed more at the chin than Lewis ... Lewis was the only one who jabbed that round.

That's not how boxing is scored, unless someone gets knocked out or the fight is stopped on cuts or TKO it's determined by who wins the most rounds according to the judges. Doesn't matter if one or both fighters get hurt, it would only make a difference if they were stopped or hurt bad enough for it to be a two point round.

I personally counted more than 3 punches landing for Lewis regardless of what the official stats say. I can see it myself. But the round is closer than I recall, I'll give you that.

    My rounds:

    Holyfield: 1,3,7,12
    Lewis: 2, 8 ,11

The rest was semi even with the nod going to:
    Holyfield: 4,6
    Lewis: 5,9,10

So I had a draw. Personally the fight looked like Holy was much fresher
and active out there, and it looked like he was the only one who tried
to win. Lewis was in survival mode almost all the time. For me Holy won
    by his will.

I agree that wasn't Lewis' best performance, but he won that fight. like I said he landed 50 more punches than Holyfield and all throughout the fight they were commenting about Holyfield not being busy enough. So I don't know what survival mode you're referring to.

Back to the scoring, I gave Lewis round 4 and I don't think that was a particularly close round in fact watch it again, over the half the round passed before Holyfield even threw a punch, while Lewis landed about a dozen up to that point. No way did Holyfield win that round and no way was it close. That being the case you should have it 7-5 lewis.

What surprised me from the judges was that most of them gave the 12th round to Lewis and I thought Holyfield clearly won that round.

Holy had more clear moments in 4 and 12 but they were both close rounds
... the whole fight was close with maybe 3 rounds clearly going to Holy, and
two clearly to Lewis. Lewis was mostly jabbing and jabbing while Holy was
trying to get inside which was somehow successful that I'm referring to
    survival mode for Lewis.

You may say Holy was not busy enough but if you call that then
you should name Lewis' performance to be extremely passive.

Round 1 - Evander is busier and has success with jabs to head and body. 10-9 Holyfield.

Round 2 - Lennox establishes his jab and dominates, similar to many rounds in the 1st fight. Lennox lands a good uppercut and right hand along with all the jabs. Lewis. 19-19 Even

Round 3 - Holyfield busier in this round but Lewis continues to dominate behind his jab, Lewis begins to land in combinations and lands a hard right hand. Holyfield comes to life in the last 30 seconds and lands a nice right hand over the jab and lands a flurry in the closing seconds. But too little too late, according to compubox Lewis out works and out lands Holyfield in round 3. 29-28 Lewis

Round 4 - First minute both exchange jabs and glancing shots on equal terms. Lewis begins to throw the jab again and controls Evander keeping in at range. Both exchange right hands with about 30 seconds to go. Close round neither really dominates or forces the pace. Lewis edges it, 39-37 Lewis.

Round 5 - Evander starts the round with a big left hook to head then body. Lewis replies with 2 good right hands. Lewis is cut and once action resumes lands a sweeping right uppercut followed by a chopping right. Lewis controls the last minute. Despite Holyfield landing his hardest shots so far, Lewis wins another convincing round. 49-46 Lewis

Round 6 - Evander picks up the pace and has success with his jab to head and body. Lewis lands a hard right hand midway through the round but has done very little this round, he's looking for a big punch but getting outworked by Holyfield. Holyfield lands a decent left hook with Lewis backed onto the ropes. Lewis has abandoned his jab. Holyfield's best round. 58-56 Lewis

Round 7 - Lewis starts the round with a hard 1-2 combo, his best punch of the fight so far. Lewis takes it to Holyfield landing right uppercuts. They brawl in the centre of the ring, Lewis landing his uppercut, Holyfield with body shots and 1 good left hook inside which backs Lewis up. Lewis looks hurt for the first time, Holyfield pours it on and Lewis pays for brawling as Evander lands another big left hook. Lewis fires back but is hit with a counter right hand but fires back with his own right hand. Best round of the fight so far, despite Evander only landing 1 more punch than Lewis it's a clear Holyfield round. 67-66 Lewis.

Round 8 - Lewis starts the round aggressively again and lands a right hand. Lewis is still looking for the big punch and is allowing Holyfield to get inside and land a good left hook. Lewis has some success at mid range landing to the body and head. Holyfield is being outworked but finishes with 2 stiff jabs. Closest round to call so far, Lewis landing more but Evander landing the cleaner punches. Edge to Evander. 76-76 even.

Round 9 - Evander starts with 3 good jabs. Lewis tries to work the uppercut again but the shots are only glancing. Both men trade body shots, Holyfield pops Lewis with a nice double jab. Lewis goes back to his jab and lands a hard left hook to the body. Holyfield lands a right hand on the inside and moments later a uppercut in close. Lewis replies with an uppercut of his own, Holyfield fires back with 2 hooks that miss, Lewis lands a crunching right uppercut counter and hurts Evander who holds on. Lewis opens up but is too tired to really take advantage. Close round but Lewis wins it due to hurting Holyfield and being busier. 86-85 Lewis.

Round 10 - Lewis goes back to his jab and unsurprisingly controls the round. Lewis picks Holyfield off from range, Evander is unable to get his shots off and Lewis lands another good right hand. Holyfield tries to open up late but can't land a thing and Leiws continues to pick him off. Clear Lewis round. 96-94 Lewis.

Round 11 - Lewis starts the 11th like the 10th behind the jab. Holyfield works his own jab with success. Lewis works the body with some nice hooks and Holyfield is once again struggling to get passed Lewis' jab. Lewis picks Evander off from range, Holyfield lands a cuffing left hook. Lewis lands a jab, uppercut combo, Holfield counters with a nice right hand. Lewis backs Holyfield up with a combo. Lewis finishes strongly landing a double left hook, uppercut combo. Clear Lewis round again. 106-103 Lewis.

Round 12 - Both exchange jabs to start the last round. Lewis lands a right hand, Holyfield replies with a harder right hand of his own. Lewis is standing his ground allowing Holyfield in close. Holyfield lands a decent left uppercut. Holyfield warned for one of his numerous headbutts. Uppercut from lewis but he is now fighting Holyfields fight and not jabbing or moving. Both men look tired though Lewis more so. Close round but Holyfield landing the cleaner punches wins the round. 115-113 Lewis.

So scored 7-5 to Lewis. Lewis wins round 2,3,4,5,9,10 and 11. Holyfield wins round 1, 6,7,8 and 12.

I have scored it 7-5 to Lewis every time I have scored this fight. This was not a great Lewis performance he abandoned his jab and looked for the big punch in too many rounds. When Lewis worked the jab, Holyfield could do nothing with him and it looked like the first fight.

Lewis lost both fights, and he lost to an old cruiserweight.

What was meant by that was the stats provided at the end of the round were the number of jabs landed during the round, not the number of punches landed, which also includes powershots landed, but you know that right.:good

Do worry bremen we'll make a boxing fan outta ya yet.
