Watching first fight. Both are great. Holyfield is awesome in the second. Best I have ever seen him perform considering he was in against a man as powerful and as good as Lewis. He could not have done much better. Lewis was awesome in the first fight. At the time these fights were considered snooze fests. Go and watch them again. Pretty good. Ps. Please, No fantasy match ups. They are only OK in adult hands (and even then are lame). Rest of the time - 99% in fact - they are ****tarded.
Lewis obviously robbed in fight 1 but Holy IMO won the 2nd... the 2nd fight very under rated fight, that was acutally a good bit of boxing in that fight between the two best HWs in the world. The 1st fight however though it was a one sided beat down, displays exactly what kind of punishment a fighter like Holyfield was able to take and even past his best at that.... Most can not take right hands like that from Lewis.. to be honest I was scared to death that Holyfield was going to get his head knocked off in that first fight...

Even though I agree that Lewis got robbed in fight #1 - he has nobody to blame but himself for letting it go to the judge's scorecards. He had a dead man in front of him that night. Lewis should have been out there trying to take Holyfield's head off. Especially in that 5th round...
Lewis had to be careful though, Holyfield was/is a deadly counterpuncher and was known to had played possum.... Look at Holyfield/Moorer 2 for example.
holyfield is an anabolic steroid riddled disgrace, his achievements should be scrubbed from the history books.
Lewis tried to win by winning the fight. That is what you have to do. He could have got hurt if he tried KOing him.
There is certainly a lack of interest here. A blind eye is turned. If a Klitschko did that... If Lewis did that... Even Manny gets it a tiny bit and that is a totally different situation.
Thought it was a great fight at the time, Lewis obviously won, blatantly won but should have finished him off. Actually got a tinge of anger remembering that decision then. Second fight not as good in my opinion though far closer but i thought Lewis just shaded it.
As the decision was announced in the rematch, look at the reaction of both Lewis and Holyfield. Lewis face showed suprise, "I cant believe it kind of look." Holyfield when he was on the losing side of a decision, up to that Lewis fight which were against Bowe 1 and the first Moorer fight, Holyfield did'nt show any emotion upon hearing he was'nt the winner....... ......but for this Lewis rematch, there was an instant smirk on Holyfield's face, almost a laugh.....as he knew immediately that the decision that was being announced was to rectify what should have been a Lewis win in their first fight. Lets be real here. Most of us know that boxing is politically influenced. ....and there was alot of flak, and an ton of bad press by the awful smell the first fight draw decision left. In the US, the bogasity of that decision was even discussed in Senate hearings. The powers that be in boxing were'nt going to risk that happening again with the same two fighters involved.....and surely the rule must have been that any round that is even remotely close was going to go to Lewis. .......thats just the way it was, and whether you believe Lewis or Holyfield won, it does'nt really matter.....the wide decision that Lewis got that night indicated that Holyfield going into that rematch needed a knockout to have his hands raised.
