very good fights, the 1st was one sided but a huge event the2nd a very close fight, without the 1st the 2nd could have gone either way
Watch Lewis-Holyfield I again & watch both fighters faces when Eugenia Williams discraceful scorecard was read out. no one was more surprised than Holyfield. He knew he got his ass kicked but Don Kings influence kept the title for him for him. Lennox won both fights comfortably
I had the first fight 9-3 Lewis and many scored it by that same margin. I found the fight prety entertaing actually. Great display of skilled offense by Lewis that fight.
8-4 Lewis. Holyfield looked better than he was. It was kind of like Jones -Tarver 1. But, I have not watched it in a while. I watched the first fight yesterday.
Lewis-Holyfield 1+2 are Great legendery HW fights. :thumbsup My H2H topic is v.relevant to this - "No rest for old men" - 1999 Holyfield vs 1992 Holmes http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=254191 Please vote And post in it guys.
As far as I know, it has never been proven and he has never admitted it. But even if he has at some point used an illegal substance, it still doesn't mean every trace of him should be stricken from the history books as you suggest. The man gave so much and achieved so much. One error can never negate all of that. You should go back to fingering yourself while dreaming about Joe Cokezaghe and leave the boxing chat to us. :good
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. e.g Prime Tyson KO everyone ever. or Jack Dempsey fought way more rounds than modern fighters ergo Jack Dempsey would beat Wlad cos he gassed against Ross Purrity. Give me a break.
Its not by accident that Lewis fans dont even mention that fact that in that first fight matchup between Lewis and Holyfield, uncharacteristically Holyfield had predicted he'd knockout Lewis in the 3rd round. A respected church member at Holyfield's church had prophesized Holyfield doing it, and Holyfield being a firm believer in christianity, Jesus, and his faith....believed it. Lewis fans ignore that this situation had anything to do with the fight, but its there on videotape for all of us to see.........between rounds 2 and 3, Holyfield is audibly heard in his corner telling them, "this is it, I'm going to knock him out." .......Holyfield then goes out and attempts to do just that, and fails on that mission. .....when Holyfield goes back to his corner, there is dejection written all over him. After failing to knockout Lewis in that 3rd round, Holyfield is visibly not focused and mentally drops out of the fight. I've always gotten laughed at for even mentioning this, but its right there on videotape for anyone that wants to see it. The mental focus from the first fight to the rematch is literally like comparing night and day. Guys, Take a look at the fear of Lewis before and during that 3rd round. Holyfield had announced his church member prophesizing his 3rd round KO of Lewis to the media before the fight, that Lewis himself was very leary during that 3rd round, and fought like it.
popkins thinks that holyfield never touched banned anabolic steroids you probably think toney and mosley never touched them either any one who takes and banned anabolic steroids is an absoloute disgrace to the sport and all there achievements should be scrubbed from the record books :deal they are corrupt cheats - simple as that :deal
I thought it was God who told him directly that he would KO Lewis in the 3rd [The God Evander prayers to clearly prioritises Holys boxing career over natural disasters famine war, genocide - very Christian of him] and I remember Evander saying that he must have meant in the rematch after he failed to KO Lewis - I think God had his hands full tampering the scorecards myself!
evander is one in a long line of delusional americans, check audley harrisons family tree and there will be an american ancestor in their somewhere
