Shannon Briggs after his fight with Vitali Klitschko:

"I've fought George Foreman, I've fought Lennox Lewis, and Vitali's the best," Briggs said. "He hits harder than Foreman, he's got incredibly fast hands.
    This was my best fight."

absolute Vitali was Finish and over Lewis woud Knock him out in the next 1-2 rounds or Vitali quittschko would Quitt before, like in the Fight with Byrd. Vitali was crying my shoulder my shoulder absolute a joke excuses. After the fight he goes to the Doctor to buy a fake injury for his shoulder. Klitschkos are Definitive Two Bad Loser they search ever an excuse for his lost fights absolute shame Fact !!!

There's another way of looking at this fight that people don't consider. Even though
Vitali was ahead on the scorecards, people just say,
"look at his face and tell me who won the fight."

Some people cut more easily than others. Whites tend to cut more easily than others.
If Vitali had the same likelihood of being cut as Lewis,
the cuts would disappear from the fight.

    Now who won?

I do believe Lewis won, but make Vitali less likely to cut, and Vitali won.

Well you simply can't do that, anymore than you can make Lewis 7-8 years younger.

But I agree that Vitali was certainly prone to cuts from Lewis, but the funny thing is I don't think any other fighter has be able to achieve those type of cuts on Vitali. So it's either the power Lewis was landing with or how the glove reacted to Vitali's skin, certainly the former is the most likely.

Lewis is the best opponent Vitali ever fought, which allowed Lewis to hit Vitali more effectively than any other opponent Vitali has faced.

Vitali's other fights are not the best test of the durability of his skin. We cannot ever know how much of Vitali's cuts were due to Lewis' power or due to the weakness of Vitali's skin. But looking back over the long history of boxing with countless fights, whites cut the most easily.

Lewis was lucky to win in the way he did - but he got the win. A rematch might have gone differently, a younger Lewis might have done better, but we'll never know. Do we really need to have this conversation over and over and over again?

    Agreed.

The only thing we do know for sure is that Lewis won the fight when they actually fought.

Who would have won a rematch is speculation and is hard to say really. Lewis has a history of doing well in rematches but he seemed beyond having the motivation to get in shape. And Vitali fought a good hard fight and absent the cut he may have won. So tough call.

I wonder how a 37 Year old Klitschko (Arreola Fight) against a 31 Year old (Briggs Fight) Lewis would pan out.

Look at the damage Lewis put on him in less than 6 rounds. If that fight continued Vitali could have really been hurt.
