I gotta agree with Lewis. I can't STAND to watch a fighter who merely tries to land a whole lot of fast punches, hoping to win the round, but puts no power into any of them. All fluff, and no substance or authority.

Many of Calzaghe's punches seem to about as powerful as puffs of smoke. I don't really call that kind of nonsense, punching, anyway. Its bitchslapping, plain and simple.

I HATE that kind of fighter. That is not really boxing, to me. Maybe they ought to start a subdivision for the Calzaghe type of slapping fighters.

Not that Roy is much better, but he does have some power in his shots, every now and then, and I hope to GOD that Roy KO's that bitchslapping arrogant *******. THERE, I said it!

I have to disagree with the champs pick I'm afraid.

Prime Roy could make Joe miss a lot, but the Roy of today doesn't land as many on Joe as Joe would land on him. I see a UD for Joe. Joe doesn't have the fire power to stop Roy, and I don't see Jones pride allowing him to quit on his stool or allow the ref to stop it. He'll go out on his shield.

Prime Roy makes Joe miss, and counters with hard shots. Old Roy makes Joe miss, but still gets outworked.

You just stated my opinion pefectly. It's damn hard for me to give rounds to a guy who doesn't land one single meaningful punch.

i'd rather watch someone actually throwing something than a 'fighter' who holds, grabs and rolls around on the floor if he gets touched by one of these 'puffs of smoke' somewhere in the vicinity of his belt...

oh well, at least he threw punches in his last fight unlike a certain ukranian HW who spent the entire twelve rounds slapping iggy on the arm.

He did more than slap the time he sent Ibrag into the ropes. :good

That one shot, alone, had more power on it that the sum total of every punch thrown in Calzaghe's entire career. (not that that is sayin' much!)

Calzaghe's type of fighting is not really boxing to many fans. There is little to no chance of anyone being hurt, much less, KOed; only redness and a slight skin irritation from all of the slappping. LOL

    one is a 6'5, 240-250lb heavyweight. the other a 6'0 SMW/LHW, go figure genius.

still, better tap that arm down, iggy's jab is fearsome!

Lewis's ego has probably been rattled with another Brit getting praise in the US
