I love Wlad, but you really can't compare Wlad and Calzaghe, it just doesn't make sense. They both have their limitations and they both fight within them. Calzaghe can't punch cause his hands will fall apart. Wlad has to be cautious in fights and spend 5 to 6 rounds developing his jab instead of knocking guys out in the 2nd to 3rd round, because he might get caught if he opens up because he is chinny! Really a fan of Wlad's should respect a fighter that fights within his limitations!

Ow come on, Joe's hands are bad and they limit his punching obviously, but if he really had the power you would see him land the odd power shot here and there. Joe just isn't a big puncher.

I can agree Joe isn't a big puncher. My point is the guy fights within his limitations. he wins on volume punching, that's what he does. I'm saying that a guy who cheers for a guy like Wlad, who has his own limitations and fights within them shouldn't really be throwing stones cause he kinda lives in a glass house.

VOLUNTARILY taking the Sam Peter fight was really taking the easy route, wasn't it? :blood

And no, Calzaghe is not a big puncher....nor is he a somewhat big puncher,........ nor is he even an average puncher......nadda also on slighly below average.....

    Slapper????? BINGO!

When he starts one of his bitchslap flurries, it seems the only force behind those shots are whatever momentum is on the weight of the glove, cause he sure don't/can't put any of his own power into them. WHAT power, you say? My point, exactly. LOL

Take him to school, THEN KO him, ROY!

chris eubank, a man with one of the strongest jaws of the past 20 years begs to differ.

slapper? yep. unbeaten? yep. two division champ? yep. best between 160 and 175? oh yes. top 3 P4P? yep.

not bad for a slapper. :yep

oh btw, sam peter is ****.

Never said that. I respect Wlad. I never said he takes the easy route. But, he fights within his limitations. He pumps his jab, cause its a crazy heavy jab to keep guys off of him and make them thinking twice about opening up and throwing anything big. As he wears him down the big rights come out and eventually he murders his opposition. All I'm saying is that its hypocritical to cheer for a guy who has his own limitations and fights within them and really hate on another guy with different limitations, but is just as successful.

some of you pretty stupid, joe calzaghe has no power:patsch , more recently after all his hand troubles he puts alot less on his shots
for a guy that has never thrown real punch's he seem's to have quite a few ko's, perhaps some of you need to watch this and see some of his earlier ko's [YT]mTjVXc1MmTA[/YT]

I agree with Lewis partly, but like someone else said in this thread, I do think he gets slightly jealous of attention given to other British fighters, he was stating that Hatton should retire now.

Joe only has two actual KO's and less then Floyd (whos fought less and better quality opponents), is seen as a non puncher, and been fighting at Welter and below all his career.

that means nothing dumbass, alot of fighters have alot of tko's rather than straight kos. Floyd is seen as a light puncher at wekterweight and wasn't when fighitng at the lower weights. Calzaghe has a decent punch he isn't a ko artist but he used to have pretty decent power until alot of hand injures changed his style. I think you need to watch some boxing instead of watching a few fights in the past few months and then thinking you know anytihng about boxing.

its funny how calzaghe fans bring wlad to the discussion, what does wlad have to do with calzaghe's slaps? I mean, wheres the connection exactly?
the sad thing about calzaghe's slaps is that they weren't even landing against hopkins, he starts every "combo" with 2 to 3 shots hitting air. he creates this illusion of him doing something when he wasn't really doing anything, just flailing.

you give the impression he does this in all his fights. tell me, how many of calzaghe's fights have you seen in full?
