It was the thumb that caught the eye. The punch did not land legally. Accidental injury -> technical decision.

The thumb is clearly landing on the cheek, the knuckle part of the glove however is landing on the brow.

Any clearer angles that don't completely destroy your argument Brem?

The punch missed and stitching of the thumb grazed eyebrow and skin right below the eye. This is were the cuts appeared and later got bigger.

His thumb is nowhere near the brow in that gif, the knuckle is, the thumb is clearly on the cheek.

Could be that it's just a poor gif.

Cuts happen and Lewis was fortunate that Vitali was cut otherwise I think he would of lost. I think Vitali beats that version of Lewis more often then not and perhaps the same with even a younger version of Lewis. As it stands Lewis gets the w but people know Vitali was more then good enough to beat him.

Of course it is you stupid twat. Otherwise there wouldn't be KO's. You'd give the guy time to get up and recover so he could carry on boxing.

The primary goal is to knock the other person out. To render them incapable of continuing. If you do that, the fight is OVER.

The cards are only relevant if there is no KO.

Right. Perhaps Lewis could have asked for the cards after Rahman injured him in south africa by punching him in the head.

    Both breathing heavily.
One coming on strong whilst the other fades.
One with a bruised face, the other losing blood from 60 stitches worth of gashes and vision impaired.

I'll take Lewis thanks, but yes in 10 fights vs that Lewis Vitali would win some.

I agree that the thumb caused the cuts (as usually happens) but it was still a legal (& good) punch. No disrespect to Lewis. He fought well & he didn't back down.

    - But he was still outclassed by Vitali. If not for the cuts, Vitali would clearly have won the fight.
You'd have to be from England to think otherwise.

The last two rounds were pretty close and Vitali could not see that well due to the cut in those rounds. If Lewis does not cut him I think Vitali does even better in that fight. And people who think that was not a good version of Lewis are kidding themselfs he looked as strong as a bull in that fight.

I'm not from England, and I think Vitali should have finished Lewis in Rd2 when he had him clearly hurt. Missing that opportunity cost him the fight.

You don't let a fighter like Lewis off the hook. I think Vitali had done his dash, cut or no cut. Once Steward told Lewis to stop boxing and rough him up, the fight started to turn in Lewis' favour.

In the last round, Lewis had no respect for anything Vitali was throwing, while landing big shots of his own.
