This is getting kind of disgusting to read now. Vitali gave a tough fight. Mercer gave Lewis his toughest fight. Vitali is a fine champion NOW, and there is no, "he would've beaten Lewis"! He LOST!!!
It wasn't a good version of Lewis, as acknowledged by Vitali, as seen by us at the weigh in and fight itself, as acknowledged by Lewis himself. He was strong yes, but everything else was practically away to ****.
No, he lost round 6. He won 5 on the cards, but I thought Vitali landed more power shots even in that round.
Self, what if Vitalis face didn't open up, would Vitali have won? Well, IF pigs could fly, do you think muslims would shoot them out of the sky so that they can eat a double bacon burger dog?
I think that version of Lewis would out perform the Lewis that struggled in fights with Holfield 2, Mercer, Mccall 1 and Rahman 1. You also should take into account that Lewis was badly rocked in the fight. Not to many boxers are going to be mr. twinkle toes after getting rocked by the shots Vitali landed early.
It doesn't count as an injury, if it's caused by being punched in the face. How many times does this need spelling out to you? Was Lewis injured against McCall and Rahman? I would have thought in that case Vitali's knee buckling glove punch against Solis would have been a NC then? Or is this another one of those rules that changes depending on which fighter you like the most?
