What I said wasn't negative on Vitali. You mention the "Klitschko's" but I didn't mention Wlad. I was solely talking about Lewis at that stage if his career. It wasn't a negative post on Vitali at all.

    You seem a bit paranoid.

I've no doubt Lewis was past it and was in terrible shape for the fight, however shot to say Lewis was shot...can't really fathom that.

Lewis' footwork as you pointed out was poor. The thing one has to remember here is who he was fighting. Lewis was an old man fighting a fresh young guy who happened to be ****ing huge and was putting a lot of pressure on Lennox. If you don't plan on being mobile and you find yourself getting pressured by the bigger stronger man it will affect your footwork.

I think the case in the Vitali fight was that pressure from the stronger man forced Lewis into a bad show of footwork. Or I could have just wasted my time rewatching that rather exciting fight to post in a thread baiting fans of the worlds first boxing robots? In which case, good work sir.

I will agree that his feet looked slow in this fight though.

Lewis was exhausted in his fight against Vitali. Not because he was shot... and not because he was out of shape. He was wore out because he had already been hurt, was in a war... and getting hit much more than he was ever used to getting hit.

I agree. I think his stamina was down, yeah, but it was made a lot worse by the pace of the fight. Vitali was in his usual great condition and he was breathing heavily too. That's what happens when heavyweights go to war.

Would you disagree with what I said about Lewis' legs though?

To be honest, Lewis was known for having poor footwork. His footwork and balance were the biggest issues that Steward had to deal with. Lewis looked fine when the fight started... even danced his way into the ring. However, the second round clearly took a lot out of him. I honestly think he was in great shape, which is the only reason he was able to recover and actually come back stronger. Fighters who are out of shape or shot don't have recovery powers like that. Especially not against a guy like Vitali.

Also, it is much different uppercuting a stationary, much smaller Mike Tyson than it is for him to uppercut a taller Vitali Klitschko who is moving in on him.

I don't think he was in tip top shape, but if he was shot and out of shape he'd have either been stopped during or pulled by Steward after the 2nd.

The comparison with Bowe/Golota is kinda valid - Torrance should have pulled Bowe out after the 2nd in the rematch.

Badly past prime? FLABBY??? C'mon... your own GIF makes your remarks look ******ed. Lewis' "decline" get more and more exaggerated every time this fight is brought up. The man was considered at the top of his game before this fight. Lewis didn't even become the best fighter he could be until he was well over 30 years old. It's different with big men. Look at Vitali Klitschko right now. Lewis was 37 when he fought Vitali... Vitali is 39 years old right now and still dominating.

This guy swears he's not a Klitschko hater every time, but damn does he ever miss an opportunity to post a GIF of them getting punched or mentioning how bad their opponents are or how old Lewis was and so on. **** gets so old.
It's so much more then just an honest observation but a backhanded slap at Vitali's overall performance and remarkable chin.

    Thank you

great fight. both fighters earned a lot of respect with that one. lewis was probably just going over the edge of his peak but i don't think vit had quite reached his. vit's peak years may well have been those years he spent out of the game, we'll never know.

i was always a lewis fan but felt his post-fight comments did him no favours, a bit more respect and humility after such a war would have been more suitable than the deluded nonsense he spouted. Shame we didn't get to see a rematch too...

  13. lennox had a longer career and alot more fights with dangerous opponents then vitali

Good overall post, just gonna use this bit though.

Amazing that vitali would jump at the opportunity to face the lineal and only real respected heavyweight champ, and ATG with only 2 weeks notice and the same for Lewis taking the challenge as well. Although Lewis's acceptance might have been more on the part of arrogance and some underrating, which I will say should be expected with his resume.

Funny how we still can't get a Haye fight done.
