I loved Lennox in his day and I really respect Vitali, but do u not think that the GIFs of Tyson and Vitali were a terrible comparison?
To a certain extent, yes. I just wanted to highlight what a proper uppercut should look like. Obviously it's not the best .gif but, like I said, if you watch the fight, you'll see him throw it using a proper base, pushing with the legs and keeping steady after the shot. That's what I wanted to highlight but I admit it's not the best example...it was the only Lewis uppercut .gif I could find, so give me a break
I don't think he ever looked fine, at all. From the first round, you see him losing balance and struggling to keep a steady base underneath him. Like I said, a couple of times during the fight, he actually tripped over himself. He looked very uncoordinated, which was unlike Lewis, even at the latter stage of his career. As for the dancing into the ring comment, are you serious? Out of shape/near shot fighters can do that, yeah. Morales, in the second fight against Pacquiao, was close to shot. His legs went in around the 4th or 5th round, yet he continued to put up a great fight before being beaten. Maybe Lewis/Klitschko would have followed suit, I don't know, but there's certainly no reason to suggest that close to shot fighters are pushovers. I agree on the comparison between the Tyson and Klitschko uppercuts. There's an obvious difference, so it's not the best comparison, but, as I said, I just wanted to highlight the difference between a technically good uppercut and the Klitschko one. He was stumbling before, during and after the shot.
When you can't breathe how can you stand. Lewis wasn't shot just completely exhausted. Watch him collapse onto his stool at the end of the Vitali fight.
atsch I reminds me of the uppercut that nearly knocked out Mosley: compare the extension of the necks of both Vitali and Shane. Brutal uppercuts both much harder than the Tyson one, which was compact, short and with the weaker left hand.
Lewis had sloppy fights, where his head didn't seem to be in it properly. See Rahman I. Lennox was just having one of his sloppy fights and probably would have lost if not for the cuts.
:huh okay way too far vitali is an armpunching robot Tyson is one of the most explosive heavyweights of all time. Vitali sure as hell doesn't have a better uppercut, its as clear as day. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_rNt-FNMX8[/ame]
Im gonna watch this again tonight. If I remember right lennox spent half the night plodding around like an old dinosaur, had no movement and was hopelessly looking for one big shot to KO Vit.
Only a ****** would think that Lewis was shot in that fight and that Vitali wasn't holding his own more than enough. FFS britain get your act together, your fans are the joke of the boxing world.
256lbs would suggest, he hadn't trained to his optimum fighting weight. And the main reason he was heavier on his feet...
