Scott knew he was going to get roughed up if it went to the cards but he did beat the count but was smart in taking 9 to clear his head but the ref stopped it while he was clearly up on steady legs quite a contrast to the way Lennox was on shaky legs vs McCall but the protest has not stopped on that one and I think most feel it was in Lennox's best interest.

Cant have it both ways...the fight is on the internet curious to see what posters think was the better stoppage of the 2 fights

The ref counted "nine-out!" , i prefer "ten out" myself but once hed said "out" there is no going back. He did not wave it off hed already said "out" so it was a count out. same thing happened to jersey joe walcott and ingo johansson.

Some refs argue that "ten out" takes you to eleven so they prefer nine-out which gives you ten second count. All counts are slow anyway.

He should have got up sooner.

Scott should have just taken eight. He was being a ***** taking a knee, and a fool trying to take nine. He could have continued but he did that to himself. Lewis wasn't the victim of a fast count. He got up, was on shaky legs, and the ref stopped it because he didn't think Lewis could continue safely. Just because I would have given Lewis the benefit of the doubt doesn't mean it wasn't a legitimate stoppage. McCall dropped a bomb on Lewis' chin and he was definitely rocked and wobbled. You want to go early stoppage how about that one Lewis got against Bowe in the Olympics when Bowe wasn't even hurt.

I would not have given Lewis the benefit of the doubt. It was a hard knockdown and his legs were all over the place. A reff has to make his call at that point, even with hindsight Lewis was not winning that fight after that KD. He was gone.

    Ten-Out is actually an 11 Count. 9-Out = 10. Everyone knows that.....
