First of all.. because Wlad HAD been "jumped on" off the bat before and it has NEVER worked.

Unless you haven't watched the fight... Sanders was backpedaling along the ropes... with Wlad persuing him... that's hardly "jumping on" someone. Sanders didn't open up on Wlad until Wlad got lazy after an attack with Sanders back still on the ropes. Sanders caught him backing away lazy, hands down, going straight back... with a big left hand. It wasn't until AFTER Wlad was hurt that Sanders "jumped on" him. Which is obviously what fighters do when they have someone hurt. Sanders backpedaled and set a trap, hoping to catch Wlad getting overly aggressive or lazy... which is exactly what happened.

Corrie Sanders fought just like he usually does.

If you want to see someone come out and try to jump on Wlad...

    Watch this...

How bothered does Wlad look by this tactic?

I also like to show this video as proof that Wlad can effectively counter punch when it calls for it. I see his fight with David Haye going a lot like this. Getting aggressive and bombing on Wladimir Klitschko if you don't have him hurt is the WORST thing that you can do.

The problem with the post is that it seems to disregard the fact that Lewis was indeed the winner.

He didn't need to redeem himself, he didn't need the rematch. Vitaly did. Vitaly needed to redeem himself.

This was the classic changing of the guard scenario. Vitaly failed to grab the torch against an unmotivated, overweight Lennox Lewis who was there for the taking.

I can only imagine that Mercer, Tua, Tyson, Rahman, Holyfield, Briggs and Bruno wished that the Lennox that showed up against them was the one that showed up against Vitaly because win or lose their night would be alot easier.

Lewis won the fight on an off night; he has said so himself that he didn't have the motivation to whip himself in to the kind of condition that he would need to defend his title against that calibre of fighter. Yes he wanted easy money but he realized as champion he can't hold the title hostage and if he's not willing to face the best because he doesn't have the drive anymore then he might was well walk away.

Would I have liked a rematch? Yes.

Did Lewis have anything to gain from a rematch? No.

    You're a nuthugger.

Lennox was scared shitless of Wlad. The reason you think Vitali is the better brother is because he has fewer losses. You're conveniently overlooking that Wlad is the one who takes on all the best challengers, while Vitali cherrypicks the fat bums.

When it was becoming obvious that Lennox was cherrypicking old men and wanted no part of the Klitschkos, he decided to fight one of them: the slower, less talented one. If he'd had the courage, he would have fought both years earlier.

The only reason that he says Vitali is the "better brother" is because Lewis fought him.:yep That's a 100% money back guarantee from Widdow Maker.:deal

Funny how Lennox Lewis said AT THE POST FIGHT PRESS CONFERENCE after his fight with Vitali that he feels Wladimir is better than Vitali.

Lewis was getting old and mannage to stay away for a loss in one of his worst day. Vitali was pretty hungry and would have won if not for the cut. rematch would have gone either way versus a motavated lewis. I don't blame him for retiring, he was up there in age already and had nothing to prove.

But you should blame him for ducking the Klitschkos when he was young. He never really beat a great prime fighter. Shot and/or fat versions of Tyson, Tucker, Holyfield, McCall, Tua don't make for a great resume. Lennox was a ducker, and is a contender for the all-time greatest con artist award along with Joe Calzaghe and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

As said. He beat vitali when pretty much in his prime. Wlad was being lined up to fight Lewis, but got smeared all over the ring by sanders.

Also at that point in time wlad would have had to drop his wbo belt as they didn't sanction unification fights back then.

If you don't think Lewis resume is any good, **** knows what you think of the klitscko's then.

Whats your scorecard for that fight? And it wasn't a thumb. watch the fight again, it is clearly a big right at the start of the third that causes the cut

Don't try and get logic from Semen. According to him its 6 rounds for Vit, he won the event and cuts don't matter. He recorded the first round and repeats it five more times so he can enjoy his fantasy.

Pretty much goes for Semen, Bitchko, and Bug as you can see.

Widdow I will cut some slack because of his grainy stills!

Ok he wasn’t jumping him from the start but after feeling him out and connecting once he jumped Wlad and attacked rest of the match.

As for Jefferson video I hadn’t seen that before but surely you see how limited fighter he is. If Wlad fights Haye like that, Haye will connect his hayemakers early and often.

Watch Sanders fight, to see how well Wlad fights after Haye hurts him.
