Lennox wasn't interested in the Klits because they were (relatively) high risk but very low financial reward.

Both Klits are tough customers in the ring for Lennox but he woudl've made very little money fighting them the first time around.

The equation changed when the Vitali rematch was on the table. Then it was a high risk high reward setup for Lewis but he decided it still wasn't worth it for him.

Lewis would have fought WLad in late 03. after originally fighting Kirk Johnson in the spring 03.
However Sanders got in the way, humiliating and exposing Wlad badly.
After that Wlad was of no value what so ever for Lewis.
Johnson got injured and Lewis said what the hell, let me have the other one.

    The rest is history.

Whoa hold on there cowboy, Haye is no Jefferson, he has beaten ATGs like 40 year old Ruiz and Valuev by a 100 punch massacre. Haye is about 5 levels above Jefferson as a heavyweight. Apples and Oranges

    :dealExactly!
When was Lewis actually avoiding Wlad??? Was it when he was crawling around on the floor against Sanders that struck fear into Lennox?
Lennox and Vitali have never ducked anyone! Wlad i'm afraid can't say the same thing. Sending big bruv to fight Sanders instead of fighting him yourself in a rematch sounds like a duck to me!
Like the man says; **** thread!

His corner pulled him out, and Vitali kept quiet while it was happening. It was only AFTER the fight was definitely over that he started doing his little ***** routine. He knew he was safe from The Lion's bombs.

Lennox was afraid of a second fight. If he bashed up Klitschko when he was OUT of shape he`d have killed him if GOT in shape.

No, Lewis would NOT have fought Wlad in late '03. Lewis NEVER planned on fighting Wladimir Klitschko. Hell, Wlad was his #1 contender by ring magazine for over 2 years! During this time Wlad CONSTANTLY called Lennox Lewis out for fights.

Lennox planned on fighting VITALI in late '03... which was pushed up to June when Kirk Johnson pulled out of his fight with Lewis.

I bet he didn't, because he still says it to this day.:good

I think Lewis understands (first hand), what it's like to be beat in embarrassing fashion by someone who is not on his level. It doesn't matter if you have lost to guys who you are clearly better than. What matters is how you recover and what you do with your career AFTER the loss.

When they started to try and put stitches or tape on the cut they effectively pulled him out.

If Lewis had fought Wlad around the time he first held the WBO strap then I can't see anything other than than a TKO/KO win for Lewis.

Vitali had the perfect opportunity to take the baton from Lewis, but he failed. Accept it.
