watched the ringside special on lewis, and he gave an amalgamtion of 2 reasons why he didnt rematch vitali.

    1) vitali is a nice guy and he didnt have the hatred or passion to fight him again.

    2) he felt he performed badly in the first fight and is in no doubt he would have defeated him easier had he been on form.

and ya know what, i agree with him. i'm not saying lewis beats vitali 10 out of 10 or anything like that. but it is clear who the superior fighter was, lewis is well proven in terms of legacy. so much so, majority assume he would have beaten moorer, byrd, ruiz and bowe (arguably the only 4 names that would enhance his legacy).

the one thing i dint like about the interview was his undermining of rahman. he admitted mccall caught him with a great shot, although he felt he could continue, but he dismissed rahman as a lucky shot. now obviously lewis knows more than i ever will regarding boxing, but i didnt see it that way.

overall the interview was good, i hope he stays retired though, his legacy is sealed, he has nothing left to achieve in boxing. he has served the sport well, and it is well withing his rights to reap the rewards he earned.

    Who still cares?

We all know if it wasn't for the eye Vitali would have dethroned him.

**** happens, Lewis got lucky, oh well.

I know, but this argument never dies once it's started.

Lewis says he would have won the rematch.

Vitali says he would have won the rematch.

    Amazing.

These guys are two of my favourite HW fighters but to be honest i'm getting sick of this subject. Completely hypocritical of me posting in this thread I know but the threads on this fight just need to stop; they go absolutely nowhere and seem to bring the worst out of everyone who gets involved.

Vitaly was lucky to be stopped before permanent damage was done to him.

Anyway, Vitaly should have push harder and was simply not good enough.

Lewis would have won the rematch to go 2-0-0 against VK.

I thought I remembering seeing LL lace VK across the face with his glove & thats what started the bad cut eye...

  14. Lewis didn't give Vitali a rematch because he didn't want to rearrange Vitali's ugly ass face for a second time.
