Lennox was prepared to fight a warm-up against Kirk Johnson. When Kirk pulled out Lennox took on Vitali his #1 contender on 2 weeks notice. Name me one other champion that risked everything to save a fightcard. Lennox had faults sure he'd lose concentration hence his two losses. Properly trained & focussed he destroyed McCall & Rahman. To me he is the best HW champ since Ali
Here's a name. Wladimir Klitschko. When the Ducker pulled out he chose a southpaw in Chagaev who was at that time the only man to beat Valuev and rightful owner of the WBA belt. Also rated #3 ... Guess we can't recognize that. Also Do you think Vitali was preparing for months to face some one with the skills and assets Lewis had. Nope.. and he still was leading on the cards. When a fight falls through and a new one is made within 2 weeks both parties are at the same disadvantage. And Kirk Johnson. LMFAO go watch what Vitali did to that dude.
Also if leading on cards vs Lewis is so easy and not a big deal, name a fighter that was leading on points at the end of a fight with him. With the exception of the robbery in the draw with Holyfield , maybe only during the Ray Mercer or Bruno fight. So don't blow it off like it was nothing and he was used to coming back from down points late. How about you try finding a fight with Vitali where it ended with him trailing.
I won't ****ing read all 12 pages. Has anyone said that Vitali actually won their fight, yet? There's always at least one post like that when this subject is brought up
bullcrap, you never can tell what would have hapened in rematch, Lenox makes him look like more foolish with his comments
You dumbass I think everybody can agree Holyfield being given even a draw was a disgrace. Reactions "I've been covering boxing twenty years. I would put this in the top five for the worst decisions I've seen." - Steve Farhood (Showtime boxing analyst) "A travesty." - New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani "The judges verdict was the most disgusting decision I've ever seen in boxing." - Former WBC champ Frank Bruno "This is what is killing boxing." - Emanuel Steward (Lewis' trainer) "I feel sorry for myself. I've taken so much stick. But I feel even more sorry for Lennox." - British judge Larry O'Connell (who scored the fight 115-115) Now I actually checked and Lewis won with MD vs Ray Mercer so Mercer didn't win one scorer card. And at the end of the Bruno fight the scores were tied... And before I listed the names I used the words "MAYBE" they were just off the top of my head of close fights. A far cry from being down on all three cards by 2 points through 6 rounds; which Lewis was. Vitali had already shown that he could survive through Lewis best punches without getting Knocked down, so Lewis would have had to gone 4-2 on all three cards the remaining fight just to get a draw. very unlikely vs Vitali.
so again i take it the interview wasnt watched. the thread isnt about who should have slash would have won. it is about an interview!
ok. i made the thread. i know what it is about. did you read the op? it is about the interview he did on ringside atsch
lewis nuthuggers tut tut. the interview was on the day before i made this thread, was really good program. showed his win over bruno again, what a fight that was!
You actually think this fight would have gone to the cards? if so, you're about the only one. As for the score cards, what should be noted is that Lewis won the last round on all three cards, so if you want to get into extrapolations, which you obviously do, then Lewis would have taken the remaining rounds, after all, what's more relivant, than the last round in predicting what's going to happen going forward? So it seems to me that equates to a Lewis win.
