Here's one for you. Vitali has never been down in his career Lewis has been stopped twice, so by that Lewis had no chance and probably would have been stopped.
This fact is as worthless as your last round statement..
It would be very hard to see Lewis win 4-2 on the remaining scorecards.
And if it was so easy for Lewis to KO him why didn't he capitalize on it earlier in the fight. Vitali had the disadvantage of the cut since the start of the thrid round yet Lewis didn't.

Lewis was doing nothing more then plodding forward slowly throwing one punch and grabbing. He was definitely and clearly exhausted.

I personally think Lewis was a great fighter and only wanted to see a rematch as a boxing fan and Klitschko fan. Listen to the commentary and crowd reaction during the fight. The rematch was the biggest fight at Heavyweight that could have been made at that point and one the boxing world would have loved to see again espicailly the way it ended. Had it ended due to cut's by headbutt and Vitali won the Dec. wouldn't you still have wanted to see a rematch. And you probably would have. But since it was by punch you make it seem as if the fight was a Lewis blow out victory which it wasn't. And was it a legit stop. Yes.
To bad that doctor wasn't there while Vitali was crushing Briggs skull. But guess they wanted to hurt his KO%

Krazylegs your living in a different universe to everybody else. Vitial dominated the first two rounds, after that it was pretty even. Except for the damage to Vitial's face which was getting worse and worse.

I watched the fight and was impressed with Vitial. Once Lewis had worked him out however I felt he would beat Vitial or run out of gas because he was out of shape.

Based on their fight i would put money on Lewis beating Vitial everytime.

    1. Because an in shape lewis punches harder and slips more punches.

    2. Vitial was gasing as well except he was in shape. His room to improve on his stamina was way less than Lewis.

    3. When Lewis was uninterested he got knocked out. Vitial was unable to ko Lewis when he was vulnerable. A focus Lewis never looked like getting taken out.
Vitial would have to beat him on points.

the only thing in Vitial's favour in a rematch was lewis age.

I feel people always overplay Vitial could be Lewis based on a sloppy, out of condition, no longer interested version of Lewis. Based on the way you talk about Vitial I would have to make Rachman and McCall ten times better than him based on their performances against lewis the first time.

How close did McCall or Rachman look the second time. miles away.
If Vitial got his rematch and upped his game 50% I still think he would come up short.

You are like the black Knight in the whole grail. it was just a flesh wound.

Lewis is one of the few heavyweights that got out of the sport while he was still the king and still had all of his faculties. He was and still is a class act and this is coming from a guy who was yelling "Knock that ****ing <derogatory name for a black person> out!!!" at the screen during the live fight.

And I'm not trying to say it was lopsided for Klitschko either. Just was a competitive fight. One in which with the public interest and money on the line, can't imagine why it couldn't be made again. Never said who would win in rematch just that I wanted to see it then, and wouldn't care about it now. Already said it was a good stoppage. And it was a horrible cut.

All Lewis had to do was fight a rematch and KO him or win Dec. And yes I know the outcome was a Dec. Then this thread would have never existed. He chose not to and that leaves this door open.

seem like this door is going to be open for an eternity. Fact is Lewis has been boxing either professionally or in the amateurs for about 25 years when he decided to retire. Having beaten every boxer he ever faced, HE obviously felt there was no need for a rematch between himself and Vitali, as much as we fans very much wanted it. Regardless it was HIS decision to make, he made it and now the fight itself and any thought of a rematch ever happening is ancient history.

The sad truth is Vitali had his shot at beating Lewis and he failed to capitalize on it. He didn't have a huge window of opportunity but he had 6 rounds to get Lewis out of there and never managed to do it. As a result Vitali lost the fight. What would would have happened had the cut (one of three btw) not happened, and the fight not been stopped is pure speculation, as is what would have happened had a rematch taken place.

Simple, because they see only want they want to see.

They don't see that Lewis won the last round before the fight ended, they see only the score at the time of the stoppage.

They don't see Vitali's banged up face, they see only the "lucky punch".

They don't see multiple cuts, they see only one.

They don't see that Vitali lost the fight, and didn't capitalize on his opportunity, they see only that Lewis didn't give him a rematch.

They see only want they want to see.

I feared for Vitali's life that night.

He owes that doctor his life.

Vitali was going to get major nerve damage.

You got it all backwards. If Lewis won a few more rounds on that night this thread would not exist. He was fighting an injured man and losing round after round. Vitali was a better boxer that night even if Lewis got a win on paper.

Being 2 rounds ahead means a 1 round swnig from being even. Nothing to brag about.

If Vitali was a better boxer, he shoulda beaten the old man who showed up at his heaviest AND eldest.

Fight was seven years ago and it still gets heated opinions.

HBO Legendary Nights-material. We would finally get to see it in HD..

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Lewis won the 6th round on all 3 scorecards...there goes the argument about Lewis being exhausted, obviously, as well as what you said about him losing round after round.

It'd be pretty easy to score that fight 3-3, a lot of people actually did. It was a close fight and unfortunately for you Klit-ites, the better, tougher fighter won - in one of his worst ever performances.

Look you're making it obvious to all that ready have trouble grasping this sport.

If a fight doesn't go to the cards because one of the fighters gets TKO'd the fights over. Why is that so hard for you to grasp. It doesn't matter if you were winning before you got TKO'd you still lost... Lewis may well have won more round IF THE DOCTOR DIDN'T STOP THE FIGHT AND SAID THE VITALI WAS UNFIT TO CONTINUE. BUT BECAUSE HE DID, VITALI LOST.

AND FOR CHRIST SAKES, THAT'S NOT A PAPER WIN.

Vitali was injured from a punch he received that was thrown by Lewis, that's why Lewis was fighting an injured man, because he was the one who injured him.
