Man, Savon who many think was better than Stevenson (not me) could have fought a prime Mike Tyson or Lewis later on. Alot of money was on the table to make these fights (ali/stevenson) (Savon/Tyson)..you gotta hand it to these Cuban fighters, they are ****in loyal to Castro with a few exceptions
With all the money they could have made they sure as hell are loyal. Though sometimes I question if it's loyalty or fear, the amount of money they could have made is way too much for anyone to think it's loyalty.
I'm a big Lewis fan, but the best right hand ever? I don't think so. Foreman has to be in the top 3 as far as devastating results.
Vlad has the best right hand in boxing, the best left hand also. Vitali is awesome also. You won't hear anything good about Euro fighters from American boxing media. Prejudice is their fact finder.
GO BACK 2 THE FARM AND FUK DA GOATS//////////.............FUK MAN VITALI COULDNT EVEN PUTA 37 YR OLD LEWIS DOWN..........HE COULDNT KNOCK DOWN SANDERS EITHER.............RAHMAN PUT BOTH GUYS DOWN:thumbsup
STFU ***....Lewis aint American and the TS gave him props. You only post bull****...please leave the forum and start watching MMA.
Its fear. It ain't like you can just leave Cuba anytime you want. its taking your life in your hands if you attempt it and losing everything you know as being worth living for.
A few fighters possessed a more powerful right hand, a few hand a quicker right hand but Lewis' combination of speed, power, reach, accuracy and variety with the right hand made it one of the best ever.
There have been a lot of good right-hand punchers in the heavyweight division over the decades. It's definitely amongst the best, I'll say that, and it was really a natural thing. Fast, heavy and accurate. It got refined over the years but he had that same cannon right when he was an amateur and at the start of his pro career too.
He sometimes threw it somewhat sloppily though, especially early in his career. Still, definitely top5 ever.
Id say Louis is right not Lewis. Joe Louis had much faster hands than Lennox and the punch was shorter and faster. Joe Louis also had a much better overall arsenal.
Lewis had a good right, but it was more important how good his timing and fight reading skill was. He was LANDING it, into the motions of his opponents. I'd venture a guess that McCalls right when he KOed Lewis was a good bit harder. Brewster also hit harder in his prime. He just couldn't land it as often, and well timed. Brewster with Lewis height and reach would have been a different kind of animal. It's hard to rate historic fighters, there should have been quite a couple of fighters through all times who hit harder than Lewis. BTW, Wlads one-punch power doesn't even come close, he is the volume puncher type with a high average power, nothing like the big punchers. Vitali was a big puncher before his spine and shoulder surgery, today he is pure volume too, beating fighters on his accuracy and timing.
