Lewis' right on Rahman or Tyson's right on Botha: Which was more devastating?

I carefully chose the word "devastating". Whatever that means. Which do you guys pick? Just a fun poll. I had this poll a few years ago on the general forum and I think ~60% or more choose Lewis' right hand on Rahman.

 

Botha probably had a better chin and the effect on him was much worse than on Rahman so that points to Tyson. However, Lewis' punch seemed to have more snap here. It's tough.

 

Lewis punch looked more devastating with the sound effects and its long range travel but Tyson's IMO was more harmful and therefore more devastating.

I'd rather get hit by neither of them but it should noted that Rahman was alot more coherent than Botha was who was incidentally was never really tagged flush whereas Rahman tasted more leather prior to the KO.

I said Tyson based on Botha's reaction vs Rahman's reaction. Rahman was clearly hurt but not on the same level as Botha.

I believe that Botha is the more durable fighter.

How something looks and how something feels are two different things.

Regardless of how you rate his chin, "glass" is a ****ing ridiculous comment. Glass would be Floyd Patterson or Michael Moorer. Lewis took a lot of good shots in his career.

Arguing with Lews detractors is pointless. Absolutely pointless.

It always goes the same way. Someone says "He went down by mediocre fighters", which will be followed by "He took a lot of fantastic puches by harder hitters in career", and the haters response will be "Down by mediocre punchers - glass jaw". Another counter argument, followed by yet another "Once he went down, he didn't get up".

You know what it genuinely reminds me of? When you see religious people on TV. You know, the fiercly religious ones, who won't here any counter argument to "God made everything". Actually, it's probably more like the horrible Phelps. You can make absolutely no counter argument. If you do, they quote nonsense from the bible, or repeat their earlier points. It's pointless.

Some people just aren't willing to accept things.

If you believe Lewis had a poor chin, good for you. Keep telling yourselves that, whilst the rest of us fans will watch him eat bombs from Tua or Klitschko.

Exactly, I think the dumbest logic from Lewis boosters is that he's the #1 HW on a H2H basis and would smoke Liston, Frazier, Tyson, Foreman, Holyfield and several others all in their primes.

While Zakman's logic of "JEEZ, if a 2nd rater like Rahman can do it, then I don't see why "insert name" can't do it either" is not totally correct, it's MUCH closer than Lewis being the #1 HW on a H2H comparison, because that's about as goddamn far from the truth as it gets.
