    Lewis Ritson born 09/22/1993 is a 5'10 Lightweight with a 14-0 8 KO's record. Born in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear and fighting out of Forest Hall, Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom. The Geordie Ritson has been boxing since he was 8 years old, and was a decorated amateur in his neck of the woods as a Welterweight, but since turning pro to little fanfare at Lightweight, he's been under the radar feasting on multi loss journeymen until he beat yet another in Jordan Ellison for a vacant BBBofC North Area Lightweight Title. He followed that up with a quantum leap up in competition, taking on Robbie Barrett, who came into the match riding high off of his career best win over the talented undefeated Scotty Cardle. Most figured the test would be too stiff for Ritson, well what transpired was a one sided destruction of Barrett by Ritson. Clearly Hearn didn't want to wait around and snatched up this beast that he missed the first time around, so he signed Lewis up a contract with Matchroom a few days later. His first match with Matchroom was against the fairly durable Joe Murray, what was supposed to another decent step up. Well, Lewis destroyed him in 1 round. So its pretty apparent Lewis could be a wild card sleeping giant at Lightweight. He's a come forward pressure fighter, who's defensively quite sound, he has a pretty tight high guard, he fights well on the inside, seems to have a good gas tank, is an impressive counter puncher, whose money punch is his savage left hook to the body, which is debilitating, seems to fold his opponents up like an accordion with it. Its Canelo-Beefy body shot nasty. Its a pity he went with Sandman, while a great nickname for guys who KO people cold, he's much more of a body snatcher in my humble opinion.     He’s a real talent and I like the fact that he’s not some overhyped guy who’s had easy ride in the paid ranks so far he’s worked the small hall shows and he’s going through the levels, heavy heavy hands as well.

    Not the greatest boxer but has a concrete chin and hits like a truck. He'll go a long way with those attributes alone.

    I've quickly become a massive Ritson fan. Guaranteed excitement when he fights. He's a vicious finisher. He also seems to have a great attitude. Can't wait til he's back out again.
