I told you. I bet it will feature Nina Hughes too. I heard that Ritson will now fight Pat McCormack instead of Cyrus Pattinson. That would be a great step-up for McCormack and a big night in Newcastle.

 

NO WAY! could this be the moment all boxing fans have been waiting for? I couldn't believe when they tried to pull off this fight before but it collapsed, could this really be fight of the ages Nina Hughes vs Shannon Courtenay. 40 year old (fourty, that's not a typo) Hughes (6-0) vs future hall of famer Courtenay (7-2), we can only hope. All other promoters must be living in complete fear as this coupled with Saudi League football means they must have almost no chance of competing, they may as well give up. I reckon it will sell out in record time at 'Extortionate' prices

 

Please clarify your comments. Great fight, I did think this would happen but I wanted to remain quiet as I hadn’t heard any news from Briedis’ team regarding him waiting for Opetaia to have an interim fight as he was recovering from injury.

Really looking forward to this one. It will unfortunately clash with a Sky show on the same date.

They should go to Manchester and get Zelfa Barrett and Campbell Hatton on the card.

So Ritson lost his last fight, getting stopped will now go up in weight to fight an experienced amatuer is not a good fight. yeh it might sell some tickets becasue of the nexcastle connection but how does that help 28 year old Mcormack. he needs to fight welter, then why not not walker.

I don’t know why you’re so bothered about ticket sales - we just want to see big fights.

But since you talk about ticket sales, you need to make sure you say that Cordina has sold out Wales twice, Taylor be Cameron sold out both times (the rematch will be sold out), and Wood vs Warrington will do huge numbers in Sheffield although not quite a sell-out. Otherwise it looks like you’re a hater with an agenda.

 

Wheres the hate? Free seats for boxing fans being available and shared for all on a boxing forum is a great thing is it not? Would you rather members on here pay for something they can have for free? I don't get why you get defensive or in denial about it.....who is the one with the agenda?! Embrace the fact the venues are half empty and freely available. You must be the only person I know that doesn't think something worth £50+ being given away for free is a good thing. You should go, you might enjoy a live show.

 

I am presuming that you would want Thompson to beat Opetaia then! To be honest though I don’t give Thompson a chance. His best win is Luke Watkins who is probably fringe British level at best. Thompson also went life-and-death with Vasil Ducar. I think it might be a mismatch but it’s great that a Brit gets to fight for a World Title and hopefully he comes through and wins.
