I thought he’d get a mention tonight after beating Robbie Barrett for the British title, but seems like he’s been overlooked a little bit with the volume of big fights tonight so thought i’d give him his own thread. He boxed very well and had way too much for Barrett. Best of luck to him, it’ll be interesting to see how far he can go, he’s only 24 and looks a good prospect.

First time seeing him was impressed With his work he didn't even let Barrett in the fight I liked how he took his time and didn't rush the finish wanna see him in another fight because I never really rated Barret or cardle

Yes he did look good last night...i think he was really happy to be on tv and felt that barrett was no danger whatsoever and was quite happy to walk forward encouraging barrett to throw.
He made some minor mistakes but that was borne more out of wanting to show the domestic lw division that hes here and ready to take over. His team said more or less the same on ifl after the fight.
Im looking fwd to watching more of Ritson...hopefully hearn will offer him some sort of deal now hes british champ

He was very impressive, for his first major fight he was very calm and composed. I would like to see him in with Dodd or even Cardle next.

He is an excellent prospect, one who has went under the radar as fighting small hall shows. Weirdly enough there are so called prospects like Okolie who get big platforms who are no where near as talented. I think Ritson can go all way if he has a promoter who can invest in him. His temprement, shot selection and patience are top draw.

Is this guy another Billy Nelson success story - sure I have seen Billy posting about him on here.

Yeah Lewis was trained and managed by Billy for about 2 years I think before Lewis moved back down to be with family. Seen him perform in gym and I for one wasn't surprised last night by the way he won.

I was impressed by his composure for somebody with only 12 professional fights.

It was a big night for him, British title and live on Sky Sports and when he hurt and dropped Barrett he didn't get over excited, force anything or go wild he just kept doing what was working for him and got his rewards.

I think a Cardle fight is interesting, I'd like to see it.

One thing to be wary of is I thought he was tiring badly in the sixth. He put a lot into trying to finish Barrett. Maybe needs to pace himself better against the likes of Cardle and Dodd.

I agree, against those 2 he will need to pace himself better but I just think he knew when Barrett hit him flush that he was never going be troubled by him. Against Cardle or Dodd he will respect their power much more and you will see him use his boxing brain!

I think he would beat both Cardle and Dodd, what do you think David ? I actually think he could dismantle Cardle who is so easy to hit.

I do think he beats both, he is a clever fighter even though it didn't really show last night probably because he didn't really respect Barrat's power. Cardle is a strange one tbh, everyone keeps saying that he is better than he has shown so far and that he performs well in gym but I just don't see it! Lewis might get to him late and get the stoppage.
