    Nah, he wasn't shot just yet. He was still a very formidable fighter but he was on the downslide of things. Lewis didn't look too good against Tyson either so I think Rahman II was his last great performance.

    That punch can't be considered "lucky" and can't be considered planned, it was a hard enough punch thrown with serious power to do damage and the damage it did was the cuts, then Lewis lands some more and cuts Vitali on the other side, meaning he was throwing punches to do some serious damage and got just that. That can't be considered lucky, an unintentionall headbutt that causes a serious cut can be considered lucky, not a punch thrown will serious power to do damage.

    Lennox was flagrantly out of shape coming in at the heaviest weight of his entire career. I would have under trained, too, if I was scheduled to fight Kirk Johnson. Lennox was gassed early, looping shots, and looked as if he wanted to get out of there . . . early. It's funny because by just under training it made Lennox appear to regress from capable, venerable champion to uncoordinated, unschooled fighter. Very poor outing for Lennox. It was apparent that his heart wuhn't in it. I'm gald he retired cuz Vitali DID NOT fight Lennox, he fought someone else.

    The punch that hit Vitali was high and grazing--not intentionally thrown to open the eye. It was a lucky punch because it was just a reaction punch that got lucky to hit that critical portion of the eyebone--the orbital bone-- that can cut easily because it lays right beneath the eyebone, and it tears when it receives concussive force on any fighter.
    Lennox was lucky that night.

    Lewis was on his way out but was a stubborn S.O.B that didn't want to pass the torch so instead decided to retire. Smart move on his part. He knew he could still compete with the top elite but he also knew he wasnt what he once was .

    You are hilarious... Obviously biased as well, but too funny none the less...

    Would you not agree though... That retirement; from a somewhat aged (from any athletic standpoint) Lennox Lewis' perspective, being he had already secured himself a very comfortable financial future thanks to boxing, with all of his titles intact, as well as having defeated every man he ever faced (avenging both loses); could now after a spectacle of a win, not only be a good idea, but also make Lennox Lewis one of how many(?) Champions, that actually retired as the "Heavyweight Champion of the World"???
    :rasta"That's serious respect mon!" And also give him a chance to do the things he really wanted to...

    I mean it had to be tempting after being in a tough fight, and as it turned out, it was a very smart move as.. Lets not forget, Lennox had already shown a major interest in leaving boxing to work as an actor and/or boxing anylist in front of the camera. Remember Lewis Vs.Rahman I... It was kinda obvious where Lewis' head was at before that fight imo. And look what he did not long after Lennox left the sport as "The Undisputed Heavyeight Champion"...

    He capitalized on his successes, took that momentum after beating Vitali in a well publiced manor (which you could call lucky; not the Lennox beating Vitali part, but rather the fact that Lennox nearly took Vitali's eye out in the process and that it was a well publicized T.K.O.), and Lennox Lewis landed himself a secure commentator/analyst spot on HBO. Then Lennox Lewis not all that long ago, landed himslef a nice spotlight, and quite a bit of prime time Tv experience thanks to big time boxing fan Donald Trump's Tv Show, Celebrity Apprentice... He also did another movie after Ocean's Eleven back in 2006;
    "Johnny Was" it's called...

    So obviously Lennox Lewis is still successfully doing what he wants; What's Vitali been successful at lately other than telling people what he thinks he can do??? :boohoo
    I mean how can you argue with... Mission Accomplished???

    Honestly, if Vitali comes back and beats Sam Peter, I'll then call him a legit Champion of the World; but until Vitali Klitschko actually beats a Champion, he'll always just be a "Paper Champion"...

    :hammertime :mj<<<< They didn't plan ahead

    Lewis was out on his feet. Vitali would have knocked Lewis out in the next round. Even well known Klitschko hater Max Kellermann said that he had never seen Lewis flop down on his stool like that. Max was right behind Lewis' corner. Vitali has great stamina and was just getting started. Angelo Dundee said that Vitali was cheated out of a win that night.

    He was most definitely NOT shot. I thought he fought brilliantly. The problem was the quality of opposition was far higher than he had faced for years. Still equipped himself well though. Think Lennox maybe underestimated him beforehand.
