There is no need for the brothers to fight as the older one will be out of the picture soon and his belts will end up with the younger brother.

Lewis just talking smack about them. Let's face it, Lewis never liked them anyway and Vitali has been on his balls for a long time and still mentions him.

Gomez beat Sam, McCall (2x, one of them NC because Gomez was on cocaine, but he won a clear UD twice) and Virchis at HW. Gomez fought 2 WBC title eliminators and won both of them.

Gomez was the most credible contender at the time, he did everything right and followed all of the WBC mandated bouts. Who else was a better challenger? What more could a guy like Gomez do to become a credible contender?

The only problem is that Vitali won against him in a very dominant fashion, so Gomez must have been a total bum just looking for an easy payday, right? Gotta love the ESB logic.

That is the best argument to NOT have this fight.

What is to keep Vitali from letting his brother win because they both know he has a longer career left. It could end up a glorified sparring session and you know there is going to be a ton of hype it will have to live up to.

Vitali would have a HUGE incentive to hand an easy gifted win to his brother because that's the only way to keep the three belts within the family, considering that Vitali is highly likely to retire soon.

    Where's the contradiction???

He states that if he had two sons he wouldn't want them to fight, but brothers fight so let them get into it.

To simplify it for you he, in the position of the father, wouldn't want them to fight bit it's out of his hands, brothers fight all the time, hence let them get into it.

Glad I could help you understand this statement.

Say Lewis comes out of Retirement, What would that do do enhance Vitali's Legacy?

Fighting a Man who hasnt fought in 6 years, possibly 7 if it took long enough is not who Vitali should be chasing a fight with.

Lennox Lewis was a great Champion and deserves respect. I think Wladimir give him this respect.

You don't think brothers used to have BRUTAL fights in the old CCCP? Yes, it's true that Russian culture has a lot of emphasis on the private as opposed to the public sphere (communism tends to have that effect) but the same is true of Afro-Carribbean immigrants in the UK. Their families are as tight as they come because you couldn't go to the pub, so you had your brothers' and sisters' families over to your front room for the evening. Wherever you have a weak civil society, as under communism or under racism, you have strong families as a replacement.

HOWEVER, I wouldn't want to fight one of my brothers in a boxing fight. Playfights and sparring, yes, but in a world title fight you never know what could happen. Even a light punch from a world class heavyweight can cause blindness in an eye; Lennox should know that, he probably came pretty close to making Vitali a cyclops.

LOL, we all know damn well Lennox Lewis's mum would never ever let him fight his brother (if he had one). This is funny, especially from someone like Lennox.
