i personally think tyson would have slipped his jab early and hurt him forcing ali on the retreat. ali would have more success as the fight goes on but not having won enough of the first half rounds i predict a tyson win by SD

If you're talking about who could beat Lewis from the 60-70's I don't Frazier would have much of a chance, he's simply too small to deal with a prime focused Lewis, but the other fighters could conceivably win...or loss against him.

Depends on the ref. Lewis was tying up Tyson as he moved in, much the same when he fought Tua. If Lewis was not allowed to hold and clinch or was penalized for it , the outcome of both fights would have been different.

Prime for prime Lewis has a great chance.

The guy was different gravy in his prime.

Prime for prime it's a pick em for me, and a lot closer than the actual fight they had.

Tyson is more than capable of KO'ing Lewis, and Lewis is more than capable of out-boxing prime Tyson and man-handling him and frustrating him. Prime Tyson would be dangerous every second of every round though and it'd take Lewis's best performance to get the win.

Amusing to me how certain Holyfield fanatics are trying to big up their guy here too

Prime Tyson beats prime Holy for me, every day of the week. Saying Holy had his number is bull****. Anyone who actually paid attention back in the day knows the Tyson who fought Holy was far removed from the guy that tore through the division in his early 20's. It's still Holys greatest achievement - beating over the hill Tyson twice, yet the same Holyfield nut-huggers bang on about Lewis beating Holyfield twice when he was 'over the hill'

Whatever....prime Tysons achievements eclipse anything Holy ever did at HW, and Lewis's achievements at HW murder Holys HW career too, which is why this question is being asked.

    Tough pick....it really is.

Its not a stupid claim!Lewis always preformed best when he felt the other guy was a real threat.I would side with a Tyson win but it would not be a massive shock if Lennox won.Look at the Tony Tucker fight.Big guy with skills.Mike won but it was far from a blow out.A guy like that with a little more belief in himself and who knows.

The Holyfield thing is one of the few I had always said in boxing that came true. When Evander first moved up to heavy I said he would beat Mike. Its easy to say now that Mike was past his best when it happened but how many people were saying it before the fight. And how many were saying it about Holy before the fight.I honestly think Evander would have always taken Mike`s best and come right back at him forcing a stoppage.I had money on it on the night, sadly on an accum bet(I had Botha).

Yeah Sure, Liston, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Holmes.....

These dudes where cut from a different cloth.

Lewis had nothing special about him, he was big, with a big reach that's all!!

Your obviously biased as he seems to be your idol, but a prime Tyson would have handled Lewis with ease.

This is PRIME Tyson here people. Prime Tyson KO1 anybody. PRIME Tyson could have knocked out a blue whale. PRIME Tyson is the strongest human being to ever exist.

Prime Tyson is vastly overrated. He's more of a myth on here than reality it gets ridiculous sometimes.

Prime Tyson ends when he gets beat, people make all sorts of excuses for him then. It's as if people on here think he retired undefeated the night before Douglas.

Prime Tyson wasn't this indestructable terminator. He was a great boxer but not ****ing superman.

Yea like who? Frazier would have wiped the floor with Lewis? Lennox would have knocked Joe through the ring ropes worse than Big George did. Complete mismatch.

And Foreman himself? Apart from landing a lucky big hand I'd give him only a tiny chance against Lewis. Lewis is much better technically and George would have little physical advantage if any. He'd get taken to the cleaners 9 out of 10 times.

Ali himself would have been an interesting matchup style wise but a well-prepared and motivated Lennox would beat a prime Ali 6-7 out of 10 times IMO.
