The other big factor with the rematch was I never thought for a moment Lennox was going to bring his A game with him. That was the danger. He dominated the guy A to Z the first fight and old heavies never have back to back brilliant performances. So the question, to me anyway, was if Lennox and his B game could beat an old Holyfield. but Evander did not fight well at all the first fight and I thought could possibly fight better. But that was not a given and he could have come in far more faded than he did.
lewis won the first hands down. He also won the 2nd, not as comfortably as i thought he would but justice was done
A lot of people came away from Lewis/Holyfield I, believing Lewis had won that bout, convincingly; a view supported by almost every observer and pundit; news media and press outlet. Holyfield came in to Lewis/Holyfield II with renewed energy and vigor - perhaps, knowing he had it all to prove. Lewis had reverted to his typical laid-back self - perhaps, knowing that he'd already beaten his opponent once already. Lewis, to my mind was not as dynamic or as sharp in the second bout, as he had been in their first encounter. Still, Lewis managed to win this quite comfortably (I think 116-112 was about right).
