Agreed 100% funny like several people think that it is simple as you are heavier so you are bigger... Nonsense. You can not get bigger frame training weights. Michael moorer at 175 was bigger than roy jones at 190. Foreman at his version of low weight of 217 pounds was bigger than tyson at 221. Ron lyle was bigger than david haye packed of muscle.Carlos monzón was taller and still he weighed the same that hagler, you could think that Carlos was a long skinny fighter. But no, he had bigger frame than hagler that was muscular but a smalish mw
I don't understand why that is on Lewis? Shouldn't it be on the ref. Just like Holyfield uses his head like a battering ram, most fighters at the top will take all the advantages they can get.
It's on the ref and rules. The OP can clarify. Just pointing out how Lewis bent the rules on good body punchers and Jeffries was one of them. Jeffries had around a third of the fights Johnson had, and apart from his one fight comeback, retired in his prime.Johnson fought into his 50's. You posted that Ketchel gave Johnson a black eye that could be seen on the old B&W film . I and Klompton both laughed at you! Jeffries had his nose broken three times was that all during the second Fitz fight? How about the cauliflower ear? WOW! O Brien made Johnson's mouth red? atsch There was nothing wrong with Fitz's gloves ,he had electrical tape on his hands it was common practice then ,as Gun-Boat Smith confirmed, in his taped interview. I've worn it myself.
Ferguson fought Johnson 5 times,he won none of the 5, Adam reports that he was toyed with. Ferguson beat: Jeannette Barry Armstrong Haynes Kubiak Drew with; Langford & Ruhlin Was robbed against Hart.
Jeffries fought plenty of rough guys who can punch. Most of the scar tissues happened in the 2nd Fitzsimmons fight when Fitz likely did something to his gloves. After the fight ended Jeffries approached Fitz and said I wasn;t marked up in the first fight, let me see those Gloves and Fitz quickly threw them into the crowd. Johnson fought a few punchers, he lost to those near their prime in Choysnki, Hart, and Willard. Had Johnson not been a hold and safety first type, he would have been marked up more often. Ketchel who hardly landed jack produced a visible mark on Johnson according to the NY times. I posted it here before. O'brien who could not punch hard made his mouth red. But okay I get it, Jeffries get his lighter gloves for this match. 2nd question, is Lewis going to wear his padded guard illegally high to help him take body punches as he did with Holyfield? LOL, instead of debate or acknowledge points, you need to make your own. How do you know there was nothing wrong with Fitz's gloves? He threw them away when Jeffries wanted to see them, hardly an act of an innocent man. Duh. As for Smith, he said Johnson never forgot it, referring to the moment he knocked him silly! Show me some proof that GB Smith was at the fight. I'm thinking your chances are slightly better than winning the Powerball lottery. It's also there for you to read ( but not remember ) that Ketchel did, in fact, produce a visible mark on Johnson. You remain either very radical or brain damaged. Could be both.
Ferguson would have needed a better record! He was 27-8-11 by the end of 1904, and did not likely beat what would have been a top ten contender while Jeffries was champion. Judging on the people who Ko'd Ferguson, Jeffries would have had him out in a few rounds. Perhaps Ferguson should have received another match with Jack Johnson as their 1905 match was close ( 2-2-1 in rounds ) and ended in a DQ. 1 ) His record wasn't very good. You can't not get around that. Not good enough to fight Jeffries from 1899-1904 2 ) Many of the people he beat were passed their prime or very green. Do I really need to show you this? LOL 3 ) The fact that a fighter like this was even with Jonhson before the DQ suggest Johnson wasn't toying with him in this fight. After this match, Johnson didn't offer Ferguson another one.
Because ,unlike you I know Jeffries examined them in the ring before the fight began,it's documented in the ring reports! Fitz intended it to be his last fight he threw them into the crowd as souvenirs. I made no mention of Smith being at the fight. I personally doubt he was there because he would only have been 5 YEARS OLD at the time!atsch You said Ketchel gave Johnson a black eye and that it was clearly visible on the film, everyone made jokes at your expense about it . I know you don't know the definition of radical because ,if you did you would not use it so out of context. There's no chance of you getting brain damage,I'll leave it for some one else to explain why to you! Thanks for the entertainment. ps How are you getting on with the photo shopping these days?
atschatschatsch You said Smith wasn't there. He has not account, and Fitz's behavior and the fact that he didn't mark Jeffries up in the first fight tilts toward he was cheating! I have already shown you proof of the mark that Ketchel gave Johnson, and let's get real you simply don't know what you are watching half the time! At this point int he thread I only reply back to you for entertainment. Thanks for delivering yet again! PS: What happened to the article where the author tells it like it is for Johnson?
Since you have only a very shaky grasp of the English language I'll tell you how it goes . Here is my line. "it was common practice then ,as Gun-Boat Smith confirmed, in his taped interview". It means that Smith was confirming that the practise of taping a boxers hands with electrical tape was common in those times. It does NOT suggest, indicate, mean, that 5 years old Smith was at the fight. Can't you get an adult to read and explain posts to you? Preferably one who can read. Jeffries was marked up in several fights against :Choynski,Corbett, and his face was described as a mask of blood against Johnson, and unlike your assertion,it can clearly be seen on the film! You stated that Johnson sustained a black eye in the Ketchel fight and that it is clearly visible on the film footage. IT ISN'T AND NO AMOUNT OF LYING, WRIGGLING OR DISSAPEARING UP YOUR OWN RECTUM WILL CHANGE THAT! It must be awful being stupid, illiterate, and unable to articulate or communicate, your thoughts ? I wonder you can stand the daily humiliation? The article by Cox was deleted ,it has resurfaced courtesy of Clay Moyle ,and I am pretty sure it will remain.
