There is always an asterix. And Lewis will ALWAYS be remembered with an asterix.... Read.... Enjoy the retirement Lewis! U sound like an old twisted sour graped fighter that got chased out of HW before his time. Oh wait u did.......:rofl:rofl A quote from the book was submitted: "He [Lennox] told me that Vitali hurt him in that fight pretty bad and that he didn't want to have to face him again. I told him that if he wanted to continue fighting at all, that he would have to give Vitali a rematch. He chose to retire." I think that steward knows more about it than u my liitle ****. Here's a pick of a green, 11-day old stand-in fighter, vitali, delivering a classy left uppercut! Experience gap was massive yet he outpunched him an out boxed him for 6rds. This content is protected
No Steward said what I did. Vitali would have been a hard fight, Lewis didn't have the motivation to do tough fights justice. Other factors also played into it. Facts are the facts though, Lewis was clearly much better than Vitali.
Vitali was green??? WTF are you smoking? He had been WBO champ years previosuly. Was a 33 fight veteran and was just shy of his 32nd birhday! Prime Vitali couldnt beat old, heavy, inactive Lewis. In fact he was stopped kinda early. I shudder to think what prime in shape Lewis would have done to Vitali's face if the old heavy one cut him to ribbons. Lewis has a better resume, better legacy, and oh yeah straight up beat Vitali, despite being past it. Vitali Klitschko.. You must be trolling as you ignorance is beyond a 10year olds. Unless you are 10? by your argument it was actually Morales that retired Hatton as he turned that fight down and retired,
Lewis TKO6 Vitali Had the fight gone further Vitali may have knocked Lewis out ... He may equally have been knocked out himself. Vitali may have gone to win on points .... Equally so might Lewis have. The bottom line is, Lewis won, fair and square. Did Vitali retire him? No. Lewis was 38 (which, on average, is old for a heavyweight), not in the his best shape, beat the best in the division and didn't have much motivation to go on. That's why he retired. Steward talks up any fighter he is currently training. Always has done.
Lewis was 37 and he got put into early retirement by vitali. He's trainer said ^^^so. Guys wake up... Vitali a 11 day old stand in put lennox into early retirement. That's his legacy!
There is something to the idea that Vitali retired Lewis. Vitali made Lewis realise that he was bordering on a shot fighter who had terrible stamina, no longer had the desire to be in the sport and his legs were gone. A fit Lewis would always beat Vitali. A near shot version of Lewis beat Vitali in 6 rounds. The only chance Vitali has of winning, is if he fought a genuinely shot version of Lewis and in which case, a win would have no strength to it.
Age put Lewis into retirement. Struggling with a fighter like Vitali made Lewis realise he had very little left.
BS....Vitialie retired Lewis...who held on to the belt a full year to make more Jamaican beer commercials. He was looking at the biggest or second biggest payday of his live and he took near a year to finally say....no rematch now....even though I promiced you one after the fight. That is why he hates them....he knows he was not man enough to face him again. He was too rich and didnt' want to work to get into Rahman 2 shape. Then he gives advice to any and all how to beat either Klitchko....atsch Odd I know 36 is old for a Heavy back in the day of lots of true contenders..50's-60s but it's young Wlad only 36 ...and no one was saying 38 was way too old out side of suddenly Lewis. Turned out he was not a Lion after all...but a *****.
A quote from the book was submitted: "He [Lennox] told me that Vitali hurt him in that fight pretty bad and that he didn't want to have to face him again. I told him that if he wanted to continue fighting at all, that he would have to give Vitali a rematch. He chose to retire." If Lewis really said that, that is all that needs to be said. Thank you and good nite.
For the record I think Vitaly and Lennx are two of the best HWs ever H2H. Who would have won? Hard to say ... I would have it very even. If they fought 10 times I think Vitaly would have won 6 and Lennox 4 (with both prime I would have it 5 and 5), but because of Vitaly's injury in this fight I think the odds were 50/50 although Vitaly was up on all cards.
The truth? Let me remind you of the truth: Lewis TKO6 Vitali ...and yes, I suppose it must. You're still crying about it.
