There's obsessions on here that go waaaaaay past this fight. It was a very good fight, no question, Lewis won so time to put it to bed. I do think Vitali could have won the fight, but he didn't. Thats boxing 101, to me his biggest weakness has always been he pulls straight the **** back, and when a guy is as big as he is or close, he can follow him with a big right hand, which Lewis did, which made Lewis smart and is why he won, that big right hand he caught Vitali with in round 3 opened the cut. I hated the way the fight ended but that's what happened, Lewis won on a cut caused by a punch, Vitali didn't win. The one thing I would have liked to have seen though is the ref or doc tell Vitalis corner, "ok, that cut is bad, we're giving you one more round then we're stopping the fight!" At least give the guy a chance old skewl style. But hey, its still one of the better HW wars of all time. And Vitali won the Event, Merchant said so.

 

spider clowns are OK, however giant moths from space are great.

 

I seem to remember Lewis winning the last two rounds and Vitali draped all over him like some ****ing big gay Frakenstein.

But seriously, that uppercut Lewis landed in the 6th nearly ripped Vitali's head off. To Vitali's credit, he took it, but Lewis took a lot of Vitali's shots as well.
