i think that the real motive because Mike has several detractors, is because the 4 clowns biased Tyson fans , they are not good for Mike and his legacy,

I have a hard time believing that statement if they say Tyson was a good W and then also knowing about how good VK is in the same breath.

It was a legitimate fight, but one that Tyson only had a puncher's chance of winning. Still, his mystique was such that it had some seasoned boxing fans giving him a shot, just like Ali's reputation had ensured that some veteran watchers had given him a chance of beating Holmes.
In hindsight it may be easy to look at both fights and wonder how anyone could have picked a shopworn Tyson or a shot Ali, but at the time it wasn't quite so easy to predict a winner. There (in theory) was an element of doubt in both fights.

Lewis did what he had to do, and he won pretty easily. Had he not fought Tyson, there would always be those who would have said "Lewis was good, BUT..."
Lewis could only beat the version of Tyson that was put in front of him and he could do no more.

    Two things though, irritate me.
For one, Lewis has never acknowledged that he beat a shot Tyson. While it certainly wasn't his fault that Tyson was well past it, he could at least admit to that. He won easily; would it hurt to just admit that Tyson was a shadow of his former self?

Two, he tried to get Tyson to fight him again. That was pretty shameless if you ask me.

To answer the original question, I don't think he could have done much better. Tyson was too far gone, mainly living off his power and handpicked opponents at that point. His stamina was poor, he was a little slower, he had lost a step or two, and he had struggled with the likes of Frans Botha. Not sure what he could have possibly done to improve at that stage of his career, to be honest.

We get it, you don't like Tyson. You don't need to repeat yourself man. Lennox took care of himself over the years and was in a better condition to fight than Tyson. He trained better, This is pretty common knowledge..

This is kind of the whole point of discussing the fantasy fights or whatever, I think Holyfield's tendency to brawl would have lent itself to Tyson. With Lewis it's tough to say. He might smother Tyson and beat him up on the outside, on the other hand Tyson might hurt him and never let him off the hook. You never know.

Of course you do.. lol. The reality is Lewis and Holy never beat any great fighters in their prime either, so your criticisms of Tyson go both ways.

His division had tons of punchers and strong fighters in it. I guess he missed the ideal window of fighting better versions of Tyson and Holyfield, plus Bowe never manned up and fought him, but that's about it.

The 90s was pretty strong if you ask me. His run>The klitschko's run, because at least Lewis avenged all of his losses and took on damn near everybody. He took on real adversity while the Klitschkos have had a relatively easy career (from the corrie sanders loss/lewis loss to now). He took chances, and he has a strong set of fighters under his belt.

does not matter if i like tyson or not, it is irrelevant here, i am impartial, don´t get emotional tommy, again the same thing.. if tyson was not in shape it was not fault of lewis, he did his job and he won the fight by ko. period any other thing is speculation.

funny because you picked evander n the poll against tyson :rofl
evander holyfield is 4 years older than tyson, he did beat tyson badly twice when tyson was barely 30 years old, in 1996 tyson destroyed bruno in brutal fashion and he won the title for second time, it was a great victory for evander, saying another thing is being a troll.evander was past his prime as well, and he had problems of heart, evander wa sin his peak in 1991, plus evander did beat bowe, lennox lewis did beat a PEAK vitali klitschko by cuts (i dont care about the cards) when lewis was a shot himself. 2003 vitali is by far better than any victory of tyson, so not, my point does not go both ways .
your comment was not that great .:hi:

    So you say.. ;)
Yeah, you have to give Lewis props on defeating Tyson so convincingly, however I think Tyson was lacking the explosiveness and drive.. He could have made it interesting given Pretty obvious if you aren't blind and watching the fight with only the sound on.

I did, but my opinions have changed over the years (I voted on that poll long ago) If Holyfield stays boxing and utilizes his skills like he should, he will win in a war. I think once his bravado shows up and he starts brawling like he did against Cooper, Foreman and Stewart, he gets hurt and stopped on his feet with his guns blazing. Great fight.

Tyson had a short prime. Well known knowledge once again.

He did, but even this version of Tyson was lacking alot of the things that made a younger Tyson a GREAT fighter.

Would have been even better if it had took place in 1990 when they both had alot left in the tank.

Yep, but he lost in the first fight because of his tendency to brawl. Something that would cost him against Tyson, imo. People say Bowe wasn't in prime condition against Bowe the second time which is a fair criticism. Bowe lost his stamina early on, he looked chubby around the midsection. So that's hardly Bowe at his absolute best.

All 3 were great fights, although Holyfield's victory against Bowe is pretty close if you ask me.

Yeah that was good on Lewis to turn the tables on Klitschko, he was definitely starting to wear him down. Although I don't really consider Klitschko to be a great fighter, it was a very good win but Klitschko himself is lacking a great win.

vitali klistcko was a great fighter for sure,h2h he would give the hell to any legend, and evander did beat bowe( a great prime hw fighter) once, does not matter if he lost 2 fights against him, my point is not about bowe vs evander, my point is about a victory against a greatprime hw fighter, evander and lennox did it, tyson never.

(about the pool tyson vs evander, ok it is fine, i didn´t know that you voted long time ago, still i think that evander was akryptonite for tyson).

A prime Tyson (86 - 88 ) had, at the very least, the potential to beat anyone in history, and could've without question held his own with anyone at anytime. The 87-88 version of Tyson was as close to unbeatable as anyone will ever get, and as close to the perfect package as any heavyweight ever. Tyson's only real kryptonite was himself.
