Don't get me wrong, Lewis was a great great fighter.

How do you see a fight between him and Valuev going?

Lewis is 7 inches shorter, an inch less reach and 70 pounds lighter.

Does Lennox have the required skill to overcome these deficits?

It's a strange one but I can see him struggling like hell in this one. His stamina is suspect when having to fight at a pace other than his own. Valuev wasn't half as bad a boxer as most think. This would be a very interesting fight.

Chagaev beat Valuev really clearly despite the MD. Valuev just wasn't that good. I think Lewis would stop him personally.

Holyfield lost that fight according to almost everyone who was ringside.

Chagaev made him look absolutely hapless. I really rated Chagaev after this fight.

Lewis on points, wide. I don't think he presses for the knockout, nor would Valuev.

The Holyfield fight was nothing more than a gentlemen's agreement in my eyes- Evander gets a payday (peanuts compared to his prime paychecks, but the dude needed the money) instead of sitting on the sideline, Swiss fans get to see Holyfield fight live, and Valuev gets a "win". I can't call it a robbery if everyone's in on it. Holyfield's been around the block way too much to believe throwing 15 punches a round will win him a fight on the road. To put that in perspective, he threw about twice that vs Ibragimov, who's a better knockout puncher and counterpuncher than Valuev was.

I wonder if those who've said Marciano etc are too small to be a threat feel the same about Lewis here.

so wat? an old shot 2 shyte holyfield matched prime valuev, yielding bigger disadvantages to him physically than lewis.

within limits, size had got shyte all to do with skill.

So what you posted almost certainly wasn't true.

    Lewis by easy decision.

Valuev had the chin to last the distance, but not the speed to trouble Lewis. And, despite his size, Valuev wasn't a big hitter so it's doubtful he could even take Lewis out with a lucky punch.

Lewis by UD 120-108 or something close to that.

np with that, I amend to " old shot2shyte holyfield matched prime valuev".

therefore the argument about size not being the breaker still stands.

If we are talking the best Lewis he wins this by ko. Lewis was a hellacious puncher especially with his right hand. That right hand he would not miss fighting Valuev. The giant will only be able to take so much before it's lights out. Lewis by ko within five rounds.
