after three fights with holyfield, bowe was wasted.. done.. (as you saw with the golota fights)

earlier? maybe he could have beat lewis.. probably so.. would have been heated, though.

Lennox always had Bowe's # same way with Mike Tyson. Lennox had one glaring fault he tended to fight to the level of his opposition. He wasn't supposed to beat Razor Ruddock but he demolished him because he was in top shape. The two fights he lost were his own fault he took McCall & Rahman too lightly. What a difference in the rematches
Rock Newman summed it up when he said " Why risk it all against Lewis when folk will buy Dokes & Ferguson with very little risk"

Jorge Luis Gonzalez owned both Bowe and Lewis in the ams. Whole different world.

Bowe's legacy was not better than Lewis's legacy because Bowe didn't perform.

He had 3 good fights with Holyfield. Other than those fights Bowe didn't perform well and its not like he dominated those 3 fights.

I don't get the Bowe excuses that everyone grants him.

Lewis could of performed far better than he did, yet nobody gives him a free ride for that, yet Bowe who didn't perform gets a free ride on "what if" ,,, its a double standard in my opinion.

You say, "Bowe improved much better in the pro ranks than Lewis ever did",,,,

Lewis was a better pro than Bowe so if your point was Bowe was not as good as Lewis in the Ams well big deal.

Personally i have always thought Lewis would of beaten Bowe in the Pros. I think the fact that Bowe didn't want to face Lewis in the pro's speaks volumes from what Bowe recalled in the Ams about how good Lewis was.

nah, i don't think earlier Bowe could of beaten Lewis even before the Holy fights.

I think he could of given Lewis a really good fight earlier. But i don't think he would of beaten him.

Lewis was always too quick, powerful and strong for Bowe. He'd always have knocked him out

Golota beat the **** out of bowe.

Yeh you all think he was shot, but that's what happens when you don't fight tall and have to go toe to toe with a crusierweight. And that crusierweight has a longer more decorated career afterwards.

Lewis demolishes big men, he the more complete fighter. With a better mentality.

My source was in fact The Guardian, a newspaper that considers pugilism as prehistoric, participated in by imbecilic savages.

Which must beggar the question, why did they show any interest in the machinations of a Lennox Lewis fight contract anyway?

Back to my original response. Is it true Bowe was KO'd or at least KD'd by his own sister?

You don't need an Oxford or Cambridge university education to work out Bowe was far from being the sharpest tool in the box.

An intelligent guy like Lewis would never allow Bowe to implement his one trick. ( fighting on the inside )

Lewis could not possibly lose the fight on the outside, which is where he would keep it. This is because he possessed the skill, power, and strength to do so.

So you started watching Lewis in about 1997 eh. In the immortal words of Roger Mayweather, you don't know sh i t about boxing. Go watch how Ray Mercer made Lewis fight.

It's biased to focus on fighters close fight and ignore another fighters close fights. In Bowe's case he struggled more often than Lewis in the same period, see Tubbs, Coetzer, Holyfield, Hide and Golota. In many cases he struggled to get past or avoid the simple 1-2 combo.

bowe would have crushed him as he did jorge louis gonzales.

george foreman said to lennox lewis after bowe obliterated gonzales "Leave rid**** bowe alone!!"

First off in the context of this discussion it only takes a small bit of insight to see Bowe was further along. Bowe had just beaten Holyfield. Lewis would get knocked out by Mcall who wasn't even in Bowes class. Lewis didn't even become a real complete fighter until around 96 when Bowe was pretty much washed up.
Would Lewis have been more competitive at his best yes but in my opinion he wouldn't have beaten Bowe.
As far as the fights you suggest I don't remember him struggling against any of those fighters. He was sloppy against Hide but he knocked him down 9 times. He beat a far better Holyfield than Lewis beat stopping him in the later rounds something Lewis couldn't come close to doing. Lewis ran like a ****** with his cup pulled up to his chin.
Talk about struggling see Mercer Bruno Mcall Rahman mavrovic
