So you're trying to tell me this information is impossible to verify but because you read a book only you know the real story. You can't honestly be suggesting this in this day and age can you?

That might have been true up until the Razor Ruddock fight, but not after that. That fight, and they way he won it, caught everyones attention.

Well when you know who the 4 men are, how different would you expect it to be?

Assuming Bowe won his fight, he was either going to fight Lewis or Ruddock whoever won their fight.

How is this in anyway complicated?

Lewis was too fast and too good at range for Bowe to win this at any stage. Bowe doesn't have the defense or outboxing skills to beat Lewis and Lewis is stronger and more athletic.

Choklab spot on with all comments on this.
I rate Bowe as a dangerous fighter at his best...the guy could fight...but most versions of Lennox beat him.Lewis was a superbly equiped boxer..an intelligent well conditioned fighter.
At times he was too cautious a became infatuated with being heavier...the slightly lighter version was better...he just has too many tools for anyone..Bowe included.

You cant be serious. Lewis beat all the names in the division apart from one guy who saw Lewis as some kind of instant remedy for constipation and hastily put a belt in the bin rather than fight him.

Agreed. It took me a long time to warm to Lewis. He had it all and often confused himself. He was never a complete article but I cannot think of a heavyweight that was as good in so many different departments. I hated the way the weight effected his stamina later on but I could not knock his tools. He could do it all but needed to ration out his wind. When Lewis turned it on he was a better force than a prime Foreman.

    Lennox for me.

Though as mentioned, a lot does factor on when they met.

    Pre-steward Lennox and post-Futch Bowe...

Lewis fought 3 guys in their prime. Rahman, Macall and Vitali. The rest were out of shape and over the hill and he couldn't get a decisive win over faded Holyfield who soon after gave up loses to nobodies.

There is no denying that fact.

ONDON — Lennox Lewis, the World Boxing Council heavyweight champion, has rejected a deal to fight Riddick Bowe for the undisputed title.

"We declined that, and the Bowe fight won't happen until the summer of 1994," Maloney said.

Dinovelvet...Lewis fought just 3 guys who were in their prime?
Are you serious ?!! Ruddock ? Mercer ? Bruno ? Tua ? Morrison ? Mason ? ...even Tucker had only ever lost to Tyson.Lewis' resume is as long and deep as any champions and far longer than most.

I'll say this about Lewis...damn good fighter but I never took to the man. He always seemed cold and aloof. Granted, hardly the worst traits in this sport considering being a choir boy was never a stipulation for being a fighter, but he was difficult to like.

Tua was 5 foot something and weighed in around 250 pounds for that fight.

Ruddock had his bones shattered by Tyson, Bruno the same by Tyson and Witterspoon , yet he was unlucky to have been ought on his weak chin.
