I've seen some people, mostly Holyfield fanboys and Lewis haters, claim that the second fight between the two could have gone either way. Some even claim that Holyfield was robbed! In their minds, since the first fight was a daylight robbery, judges wanted to give the fight to Lewis to even it out. I always found it laughable as in my view, Holyfield didn't win more than 5 rounds and he probably won only 4. Do we have anyone on this forum who thinks Holyfield won and can make a case for it?
I also think Lewis won it 116-113. Lewis : rds 2-5, 8, 10-11. Holyfield : rd 1, 6-7, 12. Round 9 a tie. I think what made people believe it could have been a draw or a Holyfield win is that he landed several big shots, especially in the 7th. Lewis also landed some nice uppercuts, but maybe overall people felt Holyfield work was more eye-catchy.
I thought Holyfield won it by a point, It could also have been a drawn. So all in all 1-0-1 for Lewis is fair result. in the 2nd fight judges were trying to make up for the mistake in the first fight.
I had it 7-5 Lewis. If this was the first fight and it was a draw I would think Lewis was a tad unlucky but could have lived with result.
