You are using a lot of "would and would'ves" aren't cha lol... Vitali would not ko Mercer. Wlad beat an old Mercer, and had Mercer been younger, the fight might have had a different outcome.
If you are a "non-professional" then WTF were you doing @ the World Heavyweight Champion's training camp? Carrying spit buckets?
So if Lewis had flaws in the Vitali fight, what did Vitali have? Lewis-Tua was a technical masterpiece imo. Lewis was canonized because he stopped the two men who stopped him and made Americans respect him. Wlad-Ibragimov was just plain terrible.
If you are carrying a spit bucket for a fighter, that means the boxer likes you because boxers don't just let anyone see them train. Everyone in a fighters camp can tell you the truth about a fighters training...because it is what they see. Until a fighter comes out and tells you the real deal, all you can do is go by what the spit bucket carrier says.
That's fine and dandy but KO'ing a string of rejects from Joe Louis' "Bum of the Month" circuit does not really impress. Now, answer the question. Who has the older Klit ever beat?
That's the point, isn't it? He felt he would lose and bowed out. There's nothing wrong with that - at all, but it gives you a pretty good idea how Lewis thought the fight would go and personally I agree with Lewis. V.Klitschko KO9
Smart, maybe, but out of fear... If Lewis had fought his original opponent, Kirk Johnson, there is no doubt that Lewis would've destroyed Johnson almost as easily as Vitali did later on. Therefore, with a dominant win over Johnson, Lewis wouldn't have to retire, but he did after Vitali despite megabucks for a rematch
Lots of fighterssay they would give a rematch, and it doesn't happen. Lennox isn't the first nor last. You say, if Lewis changed his mind fine, then say it is logical to assume that he didn't like his chances. No, that is not logical, because Lennox won, so he would not feel that way. It is also logical to retire too. Lewis held the title for a while because he was looking into options along with looking at a rematch with Vitali. We can speculate till the sun comes up on who wins the rematch, but he retired, and while you think Lewis did not want the rematch, or whether you think Vitali wins the rematch, I go the other way.
I was talking about Vitali. If you give an opinion on two fighters and talk about one fighters flaws when he won, talk about both fighters. It becomes confusing to read. Vitali did not expose flaws in a 37 year old Lewis.
vitali would be in his head from the first way harder then exspected fight..vitali ko's..no tko's him round 7-8.
